The truth is that this launch was always supposed to be for six months. So while the Leftards are declaring victory over the “hate sandwich factory,” the facts are that this was a short promotional launch in a high visibility area for promotional value and the six month termination date was already built in.
It will re-open in a larger location after that, and probably a bunch more of them will also launch.

They updated the title to say "Amid Protests". Looks like some local gay group pressured the mall, and mall (ran by wimps) catered to them and promised not to renew chick-a-fil after 6 month pilot period.

Seems strange that some people so easily get bullied by lgbt groups. While lgbt groups say they are "anti bullying", yet they bully everyone who disagrees with them.

What's the competition? Serious question. I've been looking to get to a Popeye's. Haven't been to one in years, but have always like their chicken the best as far as fast food goes. Chick-fil-a is average to boring as you state. I like a good spicy chicken sammy.

Chick-fil-a is the a great micro example of how the left has sold out the working class. In a fast food world dominated by large corporations paying minimum wage with little prospect for advancement for it's employees, Chick-fil-a stands out because it pays a fair wage and gives employees opportunities to advance. Owners of Chick-fil-a must have worked in the store previously, and they limit the number of franchises you can own to usually 1, once you are approved to own a store, it's the cheapest franchise you can buy into, with a startup fee of only 10K.

Yet with all these great attributes, the left hates them because they have in the past donated some money to some unapproved charities and because they believe in traditional marriage. Insane leftists would rather eat at McDonalds which pays their employees less and pollutes far more then goto a place that is objectively better for 95% of the stuff they claim to be for, because they don't buy into the Globo-Homo party line.

Problem is that they've gone past "accept us", they are basically at a point of "join us or be prosecuted". The fact that companies are not fighting back by filing lawsuits for religious discrimination is strange to me.

I lived in England for a year and besides fish and chips the food is generally lousy so Chick-fil-A would be relatively delectable over there.

One place I recall was immortalized in Monty Python; "the golden egg". This fast food joint made eggs various ways and had bacon, sausage and etc. to go with it.
