According to Mediaite, de Blasio told BuzzFeed Editor-in-Chief Ben Smith at an event on Thursday night that President Trump will "not be welcome back" in the city he called home prior to his relocation to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

BUT NOW it TURNS OUT:

More New Yorkers like President Trump than like Mayor Bill de Blasio, according to a poll by Sienna College.

The embarrassing survey showed that statewide, only 29 percent of voters have a favorable view of Hizzoner, while 34 percent view the commander-in-chief favorably.
De Blasio’s 53 percent unfavorability rating was up from 50 percent in April and was his worst favorability rating in the history of the poll.

But the majority of New Yorkers take a dim view of both the mayor and the president, with 63 percent of voters having an unfavorable view of the Trump, up from 59 percent in April.

Fifty-three percent give de Blasio the same thumbs down, including 52 percent in the Big Apple.

De Blasio Staffers Allegedly Call Bid for Presidency a ‘Joke’
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio’s staffers are reportedly not taking his bid for the White House very seriously.

“It’s a joke,” one of de Blasio’s long-time aides allegedly said.

“I think that he knows that he can’t win. It’s just a lot of eye-rolling . . . He’s doing it because he’s got a big ego and needs to prove something, and I don’t think he’s going to quietly go away and become an adjunct professor at Hunter,” the staffer told the New York Post, referencing a college in Manhattan.
