What is the solution? We can't have an economy that produces income/wealth inequality and then complain about the impoverished.

Agreed. The quality of services and goods in the economy, esp. services, has been going down over time, be it the cleanliness of a city/park, the quality of service in a store, the wait for a service etc. There a PLENTY of opportunities and jobs for those that want food and shelter, so put them in programs (no pay but shelter/food etc.) to help others, and those who refuse or are too crazed out and are harming others need to be admitted into closed facilities where they are being forced to do labor as useful as they can be.

Agreed. Well said above... although capitalism has many benefits, as you increase the wealth gap (which has been happening), you will increase the amount of impoverished at the bottom too.

Also many things except for the notoriously inflated ones such as housing / healthcare / education rackets have become cheaper. 20 somethings routinely fly around the globe for vacations every year, visit more countries than ever, go out more for dinner and drinks than ever, have their uber chauffeurs pick them up and drop them off and the work place has become a safer place than ever. Let's face it, it's the decaying moral fabric and the instant gratification culture that has been destroying todays youth. Hard work, a family and kids, friends, a cohesive neighborhood, and an occasional vacation to the country side. Instead we have become mostly fat lazy pigs - fuck obesity is up everywhere - with an instant gratification complex who like to complain about the "elite" and blame others for our problems. The wealth gap and the elite is a symptom, not the disease. The disease are globalist leftist cultural marxist politics destroying a once cohesive society, as well as gluttony, addiction to consumption and instant gratification.

Here's, unfortunately, how that would go: Homeless person gets the housing and food, but refuses to do the work. Continues to live as a slob in the housing. Person gets kicked out of the program but barred from returning to the public park. Now, leftists and virtue-signalers cry that the homeless person is basically a "slave" because that person isn't allowed to live in the park but is instead "forced" to work an easy job for 5 hours a day in exchange for housing and food worth 3x his work value.

It's a fine balance between being worried that government declares you mentally ill and admits you and having armies of mentally ill defecating in the streets and assaulting you and your family. Back in the days such people would eventually be shot or taken out otherwise, today we need mental facilities and forced drug rehabs if we don't want to kill them.
