What if we replaced the population of El Salvador (a noted hell hole of violence, poverty, and corruption) with the population of Arizona in a direct people swap? All infrastructure remains as is, nothing is moved but the people.

Would El Salvador still be a shithole? Or would Arizona?

Further, would there be people from neighboring countries flocking to Arizona to claim asylum or to El Salvador?

Discuss.

Arizona is still majority white. El Salvador, mostly descendants of Indians raped by Spaniards.

We'll need a wall around Arizona then.

El Salvador will become a major tourist destination.

Yes, why is USA and Canada rich, while south of the Rio Grande are basket cases. With Mexico's people an resources, it should be a 1st World nation.

Places settled by the English Protestants, verses places settled by Spanish and Portuguese Catholics. My theory is the the culture of a work ethic, verses a "God will provide" and the Catholic leaders love of a impoverished flock.
