Madame Lagarde nominated ECB president.
What can possibly go wrong?

We may even see 'Wiemar Europe' if the Russians invade non-America* NATO countries, as world currency traders will short the Euro into hyperinflationary hell as a direct result.

* Even if it isn't official yet, NATO is already toast as America will not step up to a third time of totally bailing out European stupidity in the next pan-European war. Whether that takes the form of openly not voting for triggering Article V when the Russians take the Baltics/invade Romania, or just simply withdrawing or playing along strictly to the letter of its commitments (which are not actually defined in the NATO treaty despite what people might think otherwise), the 'mighty' European millitaries will be fighting the Russians..or not at all, either. And what help we do provide will come at a steep cost to the Europeans. Think: Lend-Lease Up the Ass, Trump-style.

You are overestimating the strength of Russian military and willingness of Russian oligarchs (real rulers of Russia), who keep their money and children in Western Europe, to engage in war which would result in them losing their "savings" plundered from Russian people. Russian army got stuck in Ukraine - they could not defeat army of the most corrupt and divided country in Europe. On the other hand, Poland is up-and-coming, disciplined, not terribly corrupt, has been modernizing their army with latest US weaponry, and is extremely anti-Russian. Any attack on Eastern Europe would involve attack on Poland.

You assume that Russia has a choice in this matter. It doesn't. In a very few short years, demographics will cut the Russian Army in half. It won't be able to secure its post-Soviet borders. This is an existential threat to the Russian Federation as a polity.

I doubt that Putler and his cronies are thinking about existential threats and Russia. They are likely thinking about how to extract another $100bn from Russia, and park that money in West. They have sold Far East to Chinese already - border regions are taken over by Chinese, to chagrin of local Russian inhabitants. They are negotiating price for Southern Kuril islands with Japanese - mark my words, in 20 years they will belong to Japan.
With respect to Ukraine, Putler took over Crimea but things in E. Ukraine did not go as planned, because Russian army is a swarm of incompetent jackasses armed with 1980's technology.

And they can overwhelm the Poles

Doubt this very, very much. I do not know how much experience with Soviet/Russian army you have - I have plenty experience with them when they still were strong (circa 1987)

TrumpingTits says
And they can overwhelm Germans

That I agree with.

TrumpingTits says
Which put them ahead of the Ukranians

It did, but not enough. They did not take over all Donetsk and Luhansk regions as initially planned.

Yep. Demographics in Western Europe too.

Before we see Weimar Europe or The European SSR, we'll see the Islamic Republic of Europe.

USSR back then, and Russia today know very well how to engage in war without being obvious about it; how to corrupt entire nations from within. They had schools and institutions created for that purpose. Communist International (Comintern) was all about that. Yuri Bezmenov is a very reputable source, and he breaks it down in this video.

He states that only 15% of USSR intelligence work was about spying; the rest 85% was about corrupting from within, and it's notable that schools and academia were the primary targets.

What we are observing may be in no small part fruits of those labors.

A decade before Bezmenov's arrival, Anatoly Golitsyn defected to the west via Helsinski to London and finally, the USA.

He outlined the entire Soviet overseas M.O. with the British and US intelligence agencies and wrote "New Lies for Old" and "Perestroika Deception"

What does the West have where you can park assets?

God damned, 1/2 this country is in for a rude awakening. We're at the fall of Rome, and it's fucking funny people still don't recognize it at this point. At least 1/2 of the Western world lives in the land of delusion.

sure, that is why children of Russian politicians live in West, and not Russia. It is also fucking funny that people who think that Russia is great do not live there
