During a hearing in front of congressional leaders with the House Homeland Security Committee in Washington, CBP chief Carla Provost said that through the first six months of 2019, the agency had 'observed more than 100,000 people who have successfully evaded arrest—a five-year high.'

'These are just the ones we know about—even with the Department of Defense's support, I fear there is far more we are missing,' Provost added.

At least 133,000 migrants were arrested in the month of May after crossing the border illegally.

The immigration enforcement agency detained over 11,000 unaccompanied children during that same period.

The article is about a mere 110 who were cooking in the sun, but that's less than 1 in 1000 of the 133,000 who were arrested, or 1 in 1000 of the > 100,000 who got through and are now sucking resources from the US or driving down wages for the poorest US citizens.

We really do need a wall.

They are taking advantage of our laws and swamping us. They need to go straight to airport and flown home where due process can be done on their dime.

Build the cost of return flight into processing fees for any applicant caught.

Yes, and a removal of the incentive. Raid should be at places of employment with hefty consequences for the employers of illegals. Even have undercover agents at the Home Depots posing as illegals, to arrest anyone that hires him.

And now he's backing down from his threat to deport illegals who didn't show up for their court date, or do not qualify as someone fleeing persecution and his stated reason for doing so is:

“At the request of Democrats, I have delayed the Illegal Immigration Removal Process (Deportation) for two weeks to see if the Democrats and Republicans can get together and work out a solution to the Asylum and Loophole problems at the Southern Border,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “If not, Deportations start!”

Why haven't they already?

Comments on Breitbart were not supportive of the presidents' position:

This is an example that simply infuriates me. Why is everything a political game. We elected you because you were supposedly NOT a politician. Just do what you say and say what you do.

I had a bad feeling he would pull out at the last minute. This seems to be trend! I am sick of it!

I feel the same way. I was really looking forward to Trump following through for once too. I'm very disappointed, because what he should of done is gone through with it until the Dems cried for mercy, 'Oh, please, Mr. President, no more, no more, stop, I can't take it any more."

Then he could say, "Pretty please with a cherry on top, and a bill that solves our immigration problem."

But at least by then, we would have a 100,000 or more of those m*****r f**k*rs out of the country.

If that was not the plan all along, Trump would not have given advanced notice of when ICE would start the roundup. This was a ploy for the Democrats. When it happens for real, there will be no announcements.

Any sellable asset they they are found with should be confiscated before they are deported

We've been here already. Yes, when dealing with 90% Fake News, everything is a political game.

He has to make it clear to any but the most benighted progressive that he was open to talks and the Dems simply refused to take or make any reasonable offer or counter offer.

Then he will move. Just like he always has.
