#iranwarThe devil is in the detail. Trump had US aircraft in the air to attack Iranian targets. He said that he did not want to have it on his conscience that he had 150 people killed during the air strike. What a stupid man! Iran has a very sophisticated air defense system. Many US airmen would have died in the attack; even if they were using standoff weapons. Until the Iranian air defense system is knocked down, cruise missile would be the only way to attack. Even that attack with the missiles coming in at very low altitude would result in many of these unmanned weapons being shot down. Any political leader needs to read history and understand history. Trump should review the war in the 1980's between Iraq and Iran. One million people died. Iraq got massive US military aid but could not defeat the Iranians. The Iranians will fight if attacked and are not to be underestimated. Our roads, bridges, airports, etc are falling apart. We need to spend money on these repairs and not on stupid and unnecessary wars.

Iran is successfully opposing our favored countries in the Middle East - Israel and Saudi Arabia, and so we are pissed, and want to knock them back. We are already doing so economically.. Just as with the UK, the US will never drop support for Israel - the Judeo-Christian ethos is in our bones.

The only reason why Iran has been challenging Trump is because Kerry and Obama has been meddling in foreign affairs with them and has asked them to challenge Trump.

In the meantime he got lots of concessions out of Iran. Iran made deals with Trump. We didn't have to send them pallets of cash.

I agree that we should not attack Iran, but the idea that Iran has a formidable air defense is nonsense that I have heard before. I was in the Air Force during the first Iraq war, and aircrews were told to expect 25% casualties from sophisticated and capable Iraqi air defenses. I remember also how news info reports spoke of how "impregnable" the hardened Iraqi hangers were, how the Mi24s would blow the bits out of our Bradleys. and how Iraqi SAMS and AAA would take a toll on the attacking planes. Nothing like that happened. One my F-111 buddies told me that he and others were nervous as hell for the first few flights, but then he said the flying was routine. They still saw a lot of response, but knew they would not be hit.

Scott Adams (Dilbert Author) has a good podcast discussing the Iran Drone shoot-down issues a few days ago: Scroll down to episode 573. This is the only podcast I have ever listened to. Scott presents generally well reasoned arguments. Mostly he makes me THINK, rather than accept the pablum fed to the masses via mainstream media. Enjoy.
