What if when you vote for a politician, your vote would compel you to pay for their policies?

It would require changes to the system, so that a politician would run with very specific promises that have very specific constraints on how they're measured and funded, so that it could be analyzed.

It seems like a pipe dream that's too complicated to ever implement, but I like the idea that if you vote for the politician that insists "illegal immigrants make us stronger - lets give them free healthcare and they will give us more of their enriching strength" that you, and the other voters of that politician would split the tax bill.

Again, I know it's too nuanced to implement, but maybe there's some limited scenarios, or some limited form of the idea that could work.

Like some have suggested for war- declaration of war comes with a draft and and a wealth tax to pay for it.

Each vote should be counted in proportion to the net amount of taxes paid, and if a voter is a net beneficiary of government largesse then their vote counts for zero. We'd see low-tax / low-spending politicians being voted into office very quickly. Change "no taxation without representation" to "taxation gives proportional representation."

Don't be too sure you'd pay less with reps.

Great idea - and have tax rate of 90% for companies and higher-earning individuals if country is at any type of war. Then any war that is not necessary for survival will be off limits.

Correct. And I say a wealth tax because that wealth is what is being protected. And a draft so that all have skin in the game.

People have gotten more stupid since our founding fathers set up our Government and System. There's no one with the wisdom or honesty I trust to fuck with it.

How about we make Civics a required subject you must pass with at least a B grade starting from the 9th grade. If you make a B in the 9th grade you don't have to take it again. But if you don't you take it again in the 10th, 11th, or 12th until you pass it. If you make it to graduation, and still didn't pass it. You have to take it at a community college until you pass it to get your diploma certified and mailed to you.

That sounds like a better plan to me. Plus we'll be raising future generation that 10000% more suitable to vote and be American citizens than anyone that was born after 1985.

Scrap that on second thought, I say we overhaul the voter ID laws. And you get a pictured Voter Card after you pass a Civics exam. Don't pass it, you don't vote.

Yeah Let's fuck with Democracy it will be Fun! Who's next anyone else wanna take a crack at it?

Toss out every school textbook written since 1970. Use older textbooks, many of which have had their copyright expired.

I don't see why history textbooks have to be replaced every 5-10 years anyway, except for School Board Members to be wined and dined by textbook companies.

Will not work because of Grade inflation. Everyone gets an A for showing up!

Because the older textbooks have a few discoveries attributed to Fucking White Males, while we nowadays know that everything has been discovered by genderfluid Austronesian lesbians with penises.
