Ameirca's American Dream home ownership is now being held hostage by Rent Seeker's Unrealistic Real Estate Values.

Nodody else may never have a new house built if it means healthy inventory in the US housing supply.

Why is our economic policy being dictated by NAR?

Come on Trump announce 10 new Big Cities you're planning on building. A Real Estate Man didn't become President for Nothing!

Rent seekers do not decide values. The market does.
Of course the market can be artificially propped up by artificial, deliberately maintained scarcity.
People who are against more housing and deliberately maintaining all the tools that block more building: zoning, building code, permitting, etc, are evil. Plain and simple.
They are the cause of homelessness, of families living in garages, etc....

Maybe the requirement for every new development to have 60 percent section 8 ghetto transplants and subsidized loans and free interim housing for illegal aliens put a slight damper on the plans.

"The new towns in the United Kingdom were planned under the powers of the New Towns Act 1946 and later acts to relocate populations in poor or bombed-out housing following the Second World War. They were developed in three waves. Later developments included the expanded towns: existing towns which were substantially expanded to accommodate what was called the "overspill" population from densely populated areas of deprivation."
This is nothing short of brilliant.Suddenly, privileged NIMBY rent-seekers would become YIMBY. Where would Pelosi and Feinsten fall out on this? The possibilities are endless.

Rent seekers lobby for the moratorium to halt new development.
Rent seekers buy up distressed inventory, so home seekers can't buy them. The banks wont lend the puny amounts of cash required to pick up those properties. And in most cases the bank is working in tandem with the investors that score those cheap houses. And distress them themselves by hiring a handy man to go rip out the kitchen and bathroom fixtures.
Rent Seekers will show up at the courthouse steps and bid that cheep auction house up to the level wont bring the other prices down.
Rent Seekers Build Multi Unit Rental complexes and charge high rent to prop up home prices.
Rent Seekers will flip a house between themselves to keep the price high.

He could probably easily do it with federal property that is owned in California itself. Follow the British post-war system for building the New Towns

Just look at Chinese Model. If Xi were to start a Lottery where if your number is pulled you have to move out of the over populated City and move to one of the Ghost Cities.
Then not only that but give an incentive where a deferred Loan is given to some of those relocated to start a business of their service, profession or skill they carried with them from the previous city.

China would build a great consumer society that would rival America from post war through the 80's.
I think that was the original plan, before he realized that kind of economic freedom does not bode well with Communist Dictatorship.

I would like to see small towns built up, rather than starting from scratch.
