Don’t go to college. It’s a scam. Before you or your well-meaning ‘tiger parents’ who buy into the prevailing wisdom that a college degree is necessary to be successful in life take to Twitter to rile up a mob and ruin my life — hear me out.Higher education is important and a privilege — but if you don’t know what you want to do, what you’re passionate about, what road you want to take — college is the most expensive way to figure it out. These days, college is a luxury that only the rich can afford and a racket that ensnares everyone else in a lifetime of what is essentially indentured servitude and perpetual childhood. You will be buried forever under the weight of your student loans and forced to subsist on avocado toast in your well-meaning tiger parents’ basements. Some desperate people are even breaking the law to give their dumb offspring the chance of getting into a top university. They should save their money! There are many ways to get an education and have a great career without saddling yourself in a lifetime of debt. No one tells you this — but the biggest myth we sell in America isn’t the idea that it’s a meritocracy — it’s the idea that you need a college degree to get a job.You don’t.You want a guaranteed six figures a year? LEARN A TRADE. There’s a shortage of skilled tradespeople in this country and it’s only getting worse. We need plumbers and electricians. BECOME A NURSE. Not only is being a nurse handy in the post-apocalyptic wasteland that is coming for us all—it will also secure you a spot in someone’s bunker. LEARN TO CODE.[...]
A Pizza can feed a Family of Four.
With that in mind, why is it that society can't admit that we really don't need college at all, aside from that white collar barrier of entry?
Megan's lack of tits is holding her back.
The College Board said it would implement what it calls the "Environmental Context Dashboard," which would measure factors like the crime rate and poverty levels of a student's neighborhood, to better capture their "resourcefulness to overcome challenges and achieve more with less."
Don't worry, your kids won't be admitted anyway: The College Board said it would implement what it calls the "Environmental Context Dashboard," which would measure factors like the crime rate and poverty levels of a student's neighborhood, to better capture their "resourcefulness to overcome challenges and achieve more with less."https://www.cnn.com/2019/05/16/us/sat-adversity-score/index.html
bachelors degree part-time online w/ zero debt.
If I was just graduating HS I would either go into the military, go into construction or go to college (or intensive full stack training course) for computer science. If I chose construction, I would learn as much as possible by working 60-70 hours a week and then opening my own business a.s.a.p.Any one of those options, for a motivated person, would be a guarantee to success. IMO
And for all those of you who totally disagree with me, please choose a doctor without degree when you fall sick next time.
And pleaz, for those in STEM who claim that their "advanced statistical thermodynamics" is useful, just shut the fuck up.
College is not for everybody but for people who can do it tend to earn more

It’s really about what you know how to do and what that’s worth to other people.
Still, I guess a college educated person might qualify for that sort of job.
I wonder what they pay their contractors? Because I’m sure they don’t hire actual employees. Still, I guess a college educated person might qualify for that sort of job.
I make double her salary. If I cared to work nights, I’d make triple. I also have better health insurance (she uses it instead of hers) and a better pension.
Rin saysAnd pleaz, for those in STEM who claim that their "advanced statistical thermodynamics" is useful, just shut the fuck up.Sorry Rin, statistical thermodynamics is related to information theory, which is used in many places and could well be the future in artificial intelligence. People learn more than they need for good reasons: it could be useful and they at least need to know what's there. Plus it gives them cognitive paths that can apply to other things. Lots of people in this country despise education. Many because it makes them feel inadequate.
No one will hire Mark with online degree, since mark will just pay his friends to take online tests for him. Or he will use one of tens of websites, such as this one, https://paymetodoyourhomework.com/take-my-online-class/.
Penn State's online degree is the same as on-campus

Tim Aurora saysCollege is not for everybody but for people who can do it tend to earn more Usually. My wife has a couple masters degrees and a full time tenure job at a local college. I have a bachelors degree i don’t use (but which came with loans i had to repay), because I went blue collar after college, and learned a bunch of tradeskills that got me a job fixing very specialized heavy machinery. I make double her salary. If I cared to work nights, I’d make triple. I also have better health insurance (she uses it instead of hers) and a better pension. A lot of people I know from high school also went into a trade and are making good money. It’s really about what you know how to do and what that’s worth to other people.

Well , good that you agree with me regarding the Doctor's getting degree and hence you totally do not disagree with me. And the Doctors do earn a degree. Thank you.
