Buprenorphine has been around forever. Actually, plain ole Darvon (propoxyphene) has proven very effective for narcotics withdrawal.
Everybody forgets that addicts have to WANT to recover if they stand a chance. Externally imposed recovery is almost 100 percent ineffective. Chemical solutions for chemical dependency are at best short term crutches.
