Was a special prosecutor. He embarrassed CPD big time. I think he gets 6 months and serves 3. Knowing about 4-5 Chicago cops, this enraged them. Total waste of resources when 20+ people are getting shot or killed every week in the city. I personally think he should get the max sentence regardless of criminal history being clean. Resources taken away for his lie could potentially give provable evidence of a murder happening. You don't play around with false police reports, especially of this nature.

Possibility. I thought if he obviously lied under oath the judge could just charge it on the spot. We'll see if that can happen at sentencing. I think the states attorney would have to charge that prior to them arresting him. Kim Foxx let him off in the beginning, so not optimistic she does anything else like charging perjury. I thought these were felony charges, so that fucks up a lot of things in his life. He's also going to get sued to the moon in civil cases. Given there's a guilty verdict he's likely going to be wiped clean financially unless he has some sort of insurance on income. Never watched the series he was on, but wasn't he just a token role player? I can't imagine he was bringing in much more than $1-2M/yr, if that.
He's embarrassed 3 huge influential communities. Black, gays and Hollywood. He likely won't get work again. There are enough black actors to fill his shoes. And think about politicians and all the people that came swooping in to defend him. They all look like shit now too. In a couple weeks span Biden was provable wrong with Rittenhouse and now Smollet. All race issues essentially.
This is why I sometimes question the vote stealing. I'm not certain Democrat politicians are intelligent enough. Maybe the locals are that run the elections.
