Amazon Asked For PII to be Sent Over Email, Lied About Why They Locked My Account

As many on here know I recently moved to Phoenix. I use local credit unions for banking, so had to open a new account out here. I need to make some purchases on Amazon, so added the new debit card and billing info, and made some orders. A couple days later I get a message stating my account has been locked. Go to Amazon site, and sure enough, it is. They want me to upload a credit card statement to the site, for the new account I just opened. I create a fake account since they don't have a way to be contacted if you aren't logged in. I give the billing info to the person over chat, figure that's it.
Next day I get a new email asking for the billing info to be sent directly over email. Because email is super secure, and a great way to send identifying personal information. I'm in a hurry, so I send it. The reason they request it is because the billing info I entered on Amazon doesn't match what the bank has on file.
Later that same day I get another email saying the bank refused to confirm the billing info, and asking me to get the bank to fax them said info. But wait a minute, didn't they originally lock the account because the info didn't match? Looks like they lied to me, and in an attempt to pretend to do my banks fraud department job, got me to stupidly send them PII over email. Way to lie, block my purchases, and secure my account Amazon!

Did I mention my bank has allowed a transaction to Amazon using the card already. I knew Amazon would fall someday, just didn't think they would start to crack so soon.
