Is this considered news? Anyone who has ever lived in a cold location knows this.

I remember in New Hampshire at night leaving my car idling outside a place for a long time because I was afraid it wouldn't start in 20 below zero temperature.

Batteries also don't like extreme heat evidently.

It's too bad natural gas cars didn't become more popular; we have about 200 years worth of the stuff just under the USA.

I remember some buses in Dallas ran on it. I think there's a correlation between how plentiful, easy to extract and how economical to use a resource is its use must be forbidden forever on pain of death.
