All Republicans Have is Identity Politics

Steve Bannon may be having trouble drawing crowds to the screenings of his latest movie about Trump, but the president’s former campaign manager’s vision of a Republican Party that proudly embraces its white nationalist appeal rather than relegating it to dog whistles has come to fruition.

In his piece on the Republican Party’s embrace of identity politics Serwer writes:

Underlying the American discourse on identity politics has always been the unstated assumption that, as a white man’s country, white identity
politics—such as that practiced by Trump and the Republican Party—is legitimate, while opposition to such politics is not.

For Americans whose Americanness is considered conditional, accepting this implicit racial hierarchy is the only praiseworthy or acceptable reaction. When armed agents of the state gun down innocent people in the street, when the president attempts to ban people from entering the U.S. based on their faith, or when the administration shatters immigrant families, these are burdens that religious and ethnic minorities must bear silently as the price of their presence in the United States.

That is the lens through which we must view the discussion about identity politics in this country today. Ever since the adoption of the Southern Strategy by Republicans, the question for Democrats hasn’t been whether to embrace or reject identity politics. It’s always been about making the moral choice to reject this racial hierarchy and go about building a coalition strong enough to defeat the white identity politics on the right

Yep, Years of blasting White People engendered a blowback. Good! Intersectionality is stupid Post Modern bullshit.

it's amazing Whites aren't angrier.

It really is a hoot hearing the Media bash Whites for Identity Politics when they've been pushing Identity Politics 24-7-365 for more than a decade at least.

Or for that matter, from you, given your recent Chinese thread.

Les than one minute to peruse all of the links and installing a subtle personal attack as well.

Kind of looks like a new record for me to get a response.

This is a ridiculous statement.
Back in 2000 white nationalists were side nuts.
Then at some point came leftists who thought it was a good idea to divide the country based on race / gender and started systematically shaming and blaming whites and males for all the woes of others.

Just look at SJW articles of faith...
- Equality, equity defined by results: so essentially white male go away, don't even try to achieve anything or be good at something. Just be incompetent. Or just die.
- People considered as groups. Intersectionality. People assumed to be either victims or victimizers... not based on what they have done, not based on their experience, not based on the content of their hearts, but based PURELY ON THEIR RACES AND GENDERS.

Is it any wonder then that people are pushing back?
If you attack Islam, you expect people to become more radicalized as a result. This is why Obama went out of his way never to blame Islam.
But you attack entire categories of people and you don't expect a reaction. Or if they react, you expect blaming them as racists will work?
Seriously?

Why? It's the usual BS.

White Bashing 24-7-365, then moan and grown that White People get their dander up.

The Atlantic (I believe) was one of the first to employ Ta-Nahesi Coates, son of a Black Radical, who blamed the death of his friend who assaulted a Black Cop - on the Black Cop "Acting White".

But don't criticize the Muslims or you'll radicalize them.

It's really astonishing, the ability to apply different standards or not think of consequences given different subjects.

I am looking forward to the day when everyone judges others on the content of their character and not the color of their skin.

Nope. Obama never wanted to blame Islam be cause he was sympathetic to Islam, just like how devout Christians are sympathetic to Israel.

Not a personal attack - pointing out the strange combination of pushing identity politics mere hours before, then complaining about identity politics hours later.

Colored people are no less racist (nor noble) than folks categorized as non-colored, or white, given that these categories are very floppy, and that there are no standards for these labels. But colored folks are given more latitude to engage in behavior that would be considered racist if engaged by a non-colored person. It is the oppressed peepoes put.

Why are there Hispanics today? Because the Indians had a comparatively primitive culture and state of technology development compared to the Spaniards. Also, The Indians inability to advance comparatively meant they had less experienced immune systems as a race, and were felled by diseases faced by the Europeans in their ancient immunological history.

Was that the Spaniards' fault? Hardly. Keep pace with your competitors, or you will be conquered and your existence and roots buried in a make believe ethnic category to hide survivors' shame.

Why did the North American Indians get whooped? Same reasons. But they don't prefer to be called Anglic or Frankic. And African Americans don't claim to be mullato. Even if 0% black, they will identify as black.

God help non-colored persons who try to found The Race, the White Congressional Caucus, or the White Entertainment Network. It's the minority put, you white, privileged motherfuckers.

This is how bad it is. Here is Corey Rx Booker trying to develop some Intersectional Rage against an appointee:

The cartoon above skipped the "I'm a proud white guy who doesn't give a fuck."

It's good that kakistocracy looks at newspaper cartoons, since all of the papers are failing and they need his business.
