Being on an island didn't stop them from contaminating the world with genes. I think Irish is one of the most common genetic groups for white people in general in the USA.

I don't think she realizes how many Americans are half Irish (or more). Until recently they were having 5 to 12 kids regularly. I speak from experience, having many siblings myself.
