MOSCOW (AP) — The head of Russia's Roscosmos space agency has said that a proposed Russian mission to the moon will be tasked with verifying that the American moon landings were real.

“We have set this objective to fly and verify whether they've been there or not,” said Dmitry Rogozin in a video posted Saturday on Twitter.

Rogozin was responding to a question about whether or not NASA actually landed on the moon nearly 50 years ago. He appeared to be joking, as he smirked and shrugged while answering. But conspiracies surrounding NASA's moon missions are common in Russia.

The Soviet Union abandoned its lunar program in the mid-1970s after four experimental moon rockets exploded.

In 2015, a former spokesman for the Russian Investigative Committee called for an investigation into NASA moon landings.

I advise to read less Russian propaganda. Lately they can not get a payload to Earth orbit, so going to Moon is drunk delusions of their leaders who forget that they are ruling over country which nowadays Russians themselves call "snowy Nigeria". Rogozin is corrupt as hell, he has promised launches to Mars and many other things in order to be able to steal more money from Russian budget. In his younger days, he was (and probably still is) a well-known Nazi sympathizer. Guy in the middle throwing a Nazi salute is Mr. Rogozin

They are the brown shirts, the dissenfranchisers, and the propaganda to support their violence while demonizing everyone else for the least little infraction they can distort to support their projection of what they do, on to them.

That I agree with (that what you call liberals are often more Nazi than the real Nazis), but I fail to see what it has to do with Rogozin being a Nazi sympathizer and his delusions of grandeur about sending a rocket to Mars being stupid. I can read Russian, and if you wish I can pull up more stuff about him. He is a rabid anti-American, and there is another picture of him in front of a slogan about Jewish Nazis taking over the world, which is mantra of Russian Far right.
I also do not see what is up with American Conservatives idolizing the most corrupt nation on face of Earth and its KGB president Putin.

I'm not Idolizing, I just refuse to demonize people who are less of an immediate threat to America like Cold War Boogiemen, than the American Socialist movement is.

Everything else aside, it would be interesting to have another set of eyes confirm or debunk the biggest conspiracy in World History.
They go there and find a planted flag and Moon Rover Tracks and Moon Boot foot prints. I think that would be awesome.
If they don't. I would still say what have said all along. Even if it was fake hoax. It was necessary without the Space program we wouldn't have the majority of technology we take for granted today. So even it was a fake, the Space program would not be viewed as squandered money in my opinion.

I have a friend that was medically discharged from the army while in his twenties and given disability and full benefits. Because he confronted his commanding officer after hearing the Jet he was ordered to shoot down was a commercial Jet, with someone the Government didn't want alive anymore. They were going to lock him up but he wrote Ted Kennedy and begged him to get him out of there. The guy is in his 60's now. America are the selective good guys.

Actually, they did. They did not have technology to put a man (or PERSON) on the Moon, but the first human-made object to reach the surface of the Moon was the Soviet Union's Luna 2 mission, on 13 September 1959; 1966 the USSR accomplished the first soft landings and took the first pictures from the lunar surface during the Luna 9 and Luna 13 missions, and so on. I am proving that Russians had the technology to see if Americans landed or not, since the technology need not be too advanced.

So if I hear you right, you're saying that in the 60s and 70s were before the liberals became such commie pinko nazi criminals ?

Back then it was possible to have a successful democrat initiative or a bipartisan one, without the the republicans fearing it might lead to democratic control of the government. Oh yeah, now I remember, the democrats already had control congress and it was pre-Nixon, so the democrats didn't have to be punished yet for his impeachment either.

The John Birch society existed back then. Who is to say if you were a cranky adult back then you wouldn't have been a card carrying member ? Are you saying that it's only becasue of the internet that you've bought in to so much right wing propaganda ?

And Nixon didn't send men to the moon. NASA did it and democratic controlled congress funded it. IF you want to give credit to a President, give it to Kennedy.

JFK was talking about longterm goals. His dream wasn't meant to be realized until the late 70's early 80's. His efforts culminated in the Space Shuttle program.
Because Nixon hijacked Kennedy's political hype and pandering and strapped a salt shaker on the end of a Rocket engine and supposedly sent it to the moon and back.
No Space mission has been so Shoe stringed since that. It was quite advanced to be at least 3 generations of technology behind the Shuttle program and at least 7 or 8 behind today's technology. Still we can't send a man to the moon as quick and as efficiently as Nixon did. Nixon came we were no where near ready to go to the Moon. Nixon made it happen, or he made IT happen.

Russia: First Satellite, First Man in Space, First Hard and Soft Landing on the Moon, First probe to fly by another planet, First probe to land on another planet, First orbit around the moon by an object, First EVA.

Wierdly, the Russians can't seem to get shit to Mars, but have several successful (I think only) Venus Landings.

Russia makes a great ally to contain a rising China, we can play them against each other, adding Russia to Saudi Arabia gives us total Energy Domination.

Europe, especially once it gets Islamified, is also a major issue.

At the Baikonur Cosmodrome, after the launch of the Russian Soyuz MS-28 spacecraft, a service platform collapsed for unknown reasons, according to rocket launch analyst Georgy Trishkin. According to him, part of the launch pad structure fell under launch pad 31 after the launch on the morning of November 27.

Space exploration popularizer Vitaly Egorov reported that the "Roscosmos" broadcast of the Soyuz launch showed "some massive metal structure in the gas exhaust channel under the launch pad, which shouldn't be there."

Egorov suggested that it was a "service 'balcony' that extends from a special niche under the launch pad when the rocket needs to be prepared before launch and retracts behind an armored wall when the rocket launches."

Georgy Trishkin noted that launch pad 31 at Baikonur is the only launch pad for Russian crewed missions to the International Space Station. He believes that Russian launches of Soyuz and Progress spacecraft to the ISS will be postponed indefinitely.

Vitaly Egorov stated that "effectively, from this day on, Russia has lost the ability to launch people into space, something that hasn't happened since 1961.
"
