Asking many of you SFBA guys who were in the region from the 90s onward, or earlier.

How did Silicon Valley, once the bastion of militant free speech and supporting a "Wild West" internet, go from "If you can't take the heat, get out of the Kitchen (or stay on AOL Moderated Areas)" to "No hurty feelings"?

Honest Question.

Once the monopolies were secured, and the government/intelligence apparatus was on board to use them for information monitoring and propaganda, there was no more need for fake, rallying 'pioneering spirit'.

AltLeft is a knee jerk, bandwagon political position opposing nationalism. It's a way of hiking up your skirts for Globalism. They can espouse any ridiculous position they want because 'theyse has the powers and the monies now'.

Start up pretending to be a revolution. End up corporate entity with dynastic ambitions.

Obama's discretionary funds.

It's probably two questions.

Because the pressure (right or wrong) to say deplatform Alex Jones, is in my opinion totally different than the internal HR policies regarding microagressions or unconscious bias, and pressure for example to have more female engineers.

The latter question is perhaps more answerable. Where as the other other one (Alex Jones) is far more complicated, relating to responsibilities that youtube and others may rightly feel they have to the public. I don't even know anymore where I fall on that one. He did cross a line with the Sandy Hook bs.

AOL Police were very odd back in the 1990s. I think there were only like 4 or 5 actual employees with an group volunteer "Guides" but they would act like Nazi's. They would cancel your account for cursing or even telling someone else to shut up which I found laughable given you were an account paying $3 an hour to be online. What other company's business model involves purging their customers? Moreover, the fact that they canceled your account for language was hilarious given the fact that they didn't seem to mind publicly created chatrooms that traded child porn.

Yes, exactly. It's just hypocrisy.

They undercut US programmer wages with imported H1B Indians who cannot complain lest they be kicked out of the country. Exactly like the low end, where service industries undercut the already low wages of the poorest US citizens with illegals.

Globalization is in their interest, since they are global companies. They care not at all about this country or its people.

I believe that rich people become Alt-Left to deal with their guilt for being rich and to appear "not greedy"; Socialism, yay...and we all know the ultra rich in socialist societies make out like bandits. It's greedy and evil to be a capitalist pig Republican, so it's their way of living with themselves for having so much more than the rest of us.

So rich white people punish poor white people for their "privilege". That actually sounds about right.

Left wing mobs and legal have pretty much overpowered any manhood silicon valley had. We are the only state that idiotically mandates number of women on the board of directors. That shit is beyond retarded, but left wing has so much power here. Rights = 0, Left wingers = 1.

They own the fucking state.

How it happened, no clue. Stupid culture of promoting socialism and equality seems to ruin everything here.

The entrepreneurial founders are usually people with IQ > 130, as are the core engineers recruited during the early stages of successful tech companies. As the companies get bigger, their myriads of staff positions have to be filled by people with IQ between 100 and 120 simply because about 40% of the general population have IQ between 100 and 120, whereas only 5% of the population have IQ>130. Here is a video conversation between Bill Whittle and Stefan Molyneux on the significance of the IQ difference on the two sides of 120:
