With the termination of a YouTube account, or simple tweak of an algorithm, the tech company monsters - Google, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter - are able to deprive millions of Americans of conservative news sources, undermining both the Constitution and the spirit of democracy.

In a perfectly wired world, the gatekeepers of the Internet would limit themselves specifically to the technical aspects of their job, ensuring that a well-oiled matrix runs smoothly and effectively for the end user. But alas, we do not inhabit a perfect world. ...

Damore, together with another former Google engineer, David Gudeman, followed up on the memo with a lawsuit that accused Google of cultivating a corporate culture that regularly admonishes “politically conservative white men”.

“Google’s management goes to extreme — and illegal — lengths to encourage hiring managers to take protected categories such as race and/or gender into consideration as determinative hiring factors, to the detriment of Caucasian and male employees and potential employees at Google,” the suit reads.

“Not only was the numerical presence of women celebrated at Google solely due to their gender, but the presence of Caucasians and males was mocked with ‘boos’ during company-wide weekly meetings."

Would you agree that telephone carriers have the right to cut off your phone calls if you say something political that they do not like? They are private companies too.

Google sheets have wreaked havoc on my classroom. Their line of best fit does not match the slope they display for some reason. The company is going downhill fast and all of their apps are far inferior to what Microsoft had out in 1990.

Law enforcement does take criminal threats quite seriously, so charges should be filed. Their identities are known, and the threats are documented in public.

Criminal threats is the crime of putting someone in fear.

California Penal Code 422 PC defines the crime of "criminal threats" (formerly known as terrorist threats).

A "criminal threat" is when you threaten to kill or physically harm someone and

that person is thereby placed in a state of reasonably sustained fear for his/her safety or for the safety of his/her immediate family,
the threat is specific and unequivocal and
you communicate the threat verbally, in writing, or via an electronically transmitted device.1

Criminal threats can be charged whether or not you have the ability to carry out the threat...and even if you don't actually intend to execute the threat.2

Was it a criminal threat when you let Call it Crazy/Ironman Dox Roberto and call in a fake gun threat at his school?

How exactly could Patrick "let" (or "not let") some guy to call some other guy's workplace and make some kind of (false) claim? I mean, is he really THAT powerful?

Dude, if anyone makes a threat of physical violence against another user, I will instantly go the police, FBI, and every other law enforcement agency with every scrap of data I have about the perp.

If phone companies were free open forums based on terms of service where anyone speak and anyone can choose to listen then yes. Otherwise it's a ridiculous comparison. Phone companies have a contractual obligation to paying customers to provide a path from one individual to another. They do have the right to refuse to do business with someone. So they are already where the social media is just getting to and your comparison falls flat on its face. Social media is not under contractual obligation to provide content for any paying customer; There are no customers. You have to pay to be a customer. There only people voluntarily agreeing to terms of service.

You guys need to do some serous research on the meaning and history of first amendment. Looking foolish is not a good look.

Political bias runs far and deep outside of silicon valley. Who the fuck do you think are the 500 carefully selected ultra rich people who get together with the koch bros twice a year to spread the far right political agenda?. Liberals?

No complaints about that? Why not?

Why don’t those super valuable personal responsibility government loathing private sector white conservatives invent their own platform then? I’m sure it will be super popular and successful, right?

There are such as Gab but they are being censored / shut down by hosting companies which unfortunately Google and Microsoft have become. It's a bit like asking why they cannot invent their own internet or telephone wires. We do have modern monopolies in tech. And they are conservatives, not libertarians, hence they also see a role for government in preventing such monopolies.

The pussification of America

Why are white Conservatives such spineless wimps? Stand up for yourselves if you feel so attacked for christ sakes.

I can tell you as a savagely unapologetic bad ass American Man, i would never subject myself, nor put up with, such nonsense

You gotta get shit done for yourself, not sit around always playing the victim, whinging about it and crying foul.

It's not always up to them, you are not supposed to take the law into your own hand (unless in a self-defense situation), esp. in CA/SV. And maybe they want to avoid unnecessary confrontation/violence, so reporting to the authorities seem appropriate.
