I just checked this with Snopes, and it said it isn't true.

And we wouldn’t recognize George Soros if we sat next to him on a bus.

No, but the lies are.

This LOOKS AND SMELLS like a fucking fascist bigot right wing lie THAT THEY WOULD PAY TO SPREAD

Yes, because everyone knows, if you read it on the Internet, it must be true, specially if it came from Snopes.

When they know you are a right wing extremist, they know you love lies and they shit them down your throat EVERY FUCKING DAY

No you don't get it this is one of those things where Snopes credibility is shot because of the salacious accusation. Their rebuttal isn't valid, you would expect them to say they are legit. Even though every thinking person on the Internet knows they are biased hacks. They don't monetize their site, so they must get money bags funding.

Yup and we don't even have to go outside our expertise to know it. Pushing a false negative will always come out positive on the other end, when you're destroying them with their own bullshit.

Standing with smug smirk on my face, like I discovered Cheese.

I think I'm enjoying being a Liberal!

Truly devastating! Did you guys see this picture of a man wearing a hat shaking hands with George Soros?!?! And look how someone added the words "snopes CEO" to the pic?!?!? This settles it then, proof positive of the link between Soros and Snopes. I suspect that with its cover blown, Snopes will shut down within a week!

You'd think if snopes was such a liberal farce, somebody would be able to actually post something from their site and show how they are lying. It ought to be easy.

What like a biased hack or something?
14   HeadSet   2018 Feb 15, 2:21pm

Here is an example of Snopes bias:

Chelsea Clinton was hired by NBC news to do occasional short human interest stories shown at the end of the evening news half hour broadcast. These short reports are typically done by well known major players in national TV news. However, Chelsea Clinton was leapfrogged into that top gig despite a total lack of experience or training in journalism or broadcasting. I routinely watch the news, and I remember seeing how the shorts done by Chelsea Clinton were very amateur, like college Film 101 projects. Clearly she got the $600k part time job over qualified people strictly because Comcast/NBC wanted to make inroads with her mom, the likely future president.

Snopes described Chelsea's hiring by NBC as follows:

NBC News likely awarded Chelsea Clinton such a hefty contract in part due to her name recognition, but she also came to the position with an impressive résumé: a B.A. in History from Stanford University, a Master of Public Health degree from Columbia’s Mailman School of Public Health, and a DPhil degree in International Relations from Oxford University, in addition to job stints with the consulting firm McKinsey & Company and Avenue Capital Group.

https://www.snopes.com/chelsea-clinton-made-900000-working-for-her-parents/
None of these resume bits mentioned have anything to do with preparing Chelsea for a top tier TV broadcast job. Snopes also straw-maned the NBC pay to play job by bundling it with an article debunking some accusation of a $900k job working for the Clinton Foundation.

To add, the article also uses the debunking article to excuse a $300k influence buy:

Chelsea also benefits from a job as a board member for Barry Diller’s IAC/InteractiveCorp. Salary for Chelsea: $300,000. The board position also pays an annual retainer of $50,000 and a $250,000 grant of restricted stock.

A person with Chelsea Clinton's background is in no way qualified for either the top tier NBC News job or the board member job. Any honest assessment would show she was hired at these high paycheck gigs to gain access to and favor with her parents. If Snopes was not biased, Snopes would have admitted that fact without the hollow statements on Chelsea's merit.

Here's their first sentence:

That article was 100% factually correct. If the claim was she got the jobs because she came from a politically connected family then it would be a different story.

Jeebus guys before you get all jacked up about Fact Check.org back in 2009 "exposing Snopes as an extremely liberal propaganda site with an agenda to discredit anything conservative": why don't you go to Factcheck.org, and see what they actually said?

For starters, there is nothing on Factcheck.org when you search "Soros and Snopes". Further, when you type the search term "Snopes" for 2009, there is no such entry. The only thing remotely close for 2009 is where some imbecile alleges that Snopes is "run by very democratic proprietors", yet the conclusion of fact check is that Snopes "is run by someone who has no political party affiliation and his non-voting Canadian wife"

Do better guys. Do better!

Doing human interest fillers is a top tier NBC News job? Really? A back round like advanced degrees from Stanford, Columbia, and Oxford with work at a major consulting firm? That kind of back round?

Seems to me snopes reported the actual facts involved and left out any opinion whether she was qualified or why she was hired. One would think that is what a fact checking organization would be doing. At least someone reasonable would think.

Lol - nicely done. You just pointed to my main problem with voting republican these days...basically all my party mates are nonthinking morons. A 2 second search of the source (factcheck) would have revealed this was BS, yet none of my former voting allies could be bothered to do that.

Note I too think snopes has a liberal bent, but it's not much as they defended bush against democratic nonsense back in the day. And this entire "Soros" thing my partymates are pushing these days is gary level cockeyed arm batshit crazy thinking.

If my republican party mates would quit embarrassing me I likely could come back into the fold but as long as we continue to be "the party of stupid" as Jindal once noted, I'm out.
