• Trump, totally ineffective still, is fully mired in scandal throughout 2018. We see something from him crazier and more shocking than the past 'Year of Trump'.
• Trump makes another covfefe. You know what it means.
• At least one more of the Trump campaign is charged criminally.
• Women lead, or are the main contributor to, another day of protest which rivals The Women's March of 2017 in scope.
• There are more extreme weather events, and persecutions of minorities, causing destabilization and refugee pressures throughout 2018. (Myanmar, South Sudan, Yemen, already going ... but another nation goes this way)
• Democrats manage to pick up the House: blue-wave.
• There is another mass shooting that enters notoriety on the scale of Orlando, Sandy Hook, Las Vegas.
• Dems stop asking/worrying about trying to pick up votes of the 30% (or less) of America which is Trump's base. Instead they push further left, and worry about energizing the vote, and 'dancing with the one that brought them'. Partisanship kicks up another notch.
• I continue to laugh as things melt-down for Trump.
• We do nothing substantial on N. Korea. (bark bark bark)
• There is no wall in sight.
• Trump's approval hovers around the 37% mark, or lower, continuing to be least popular President in modern history.
• We see another disease flare up and capture the attention of the press/world.

Tech Market crashes, Long term outlook for Google and Facebook become manufactures of products and less relevant as Internet companies.
The last year has been about the Frogs sitting in the pot of heating water on the stove. They don't seem to worried about loosing half of their critical mass, and the whole monetization of the Internet being thrown into disarray. But when you look closely they've got their hands in bigger pots, and are trying to destroy the internet and technology that is cheap available and understood by the masses. As they develop obscure SciFi fantasy tech that the Tech and Science media over hypes, and the MSM misreports. Technology and ideas that if they are successful. The consumer doesn't own, but they will affect every person on the planet. With a service that only they can provide. No smart phones, no 4G networks, you cant drive your own cars. They want a new AI network hooked up to wearable devices that monitor your every day life, and chauffeur you around in cars they autonomously drive for you. You whip through a McDonald's drive through where a robot takes and cooks your order. They've got bigger plans, they are so past our narcissistic Selfies, cat pictures and recipes of the week. I know I said tech markets crash, and it will the existing markets will tank, all of the major players will declare bankruptcy, and abandon those Social Network businesses altogether and start just tech pimping like Bezos and Musk. But those invested in Facebook and Google the platform will be left holding the bag. While this affects hardware companies like Samsung, and Smart phone sales.
Media empires go belly upper they've already done one hell of a job. But I don't think they are through ESPN and CNN might not survive 2017.
Cable Implodes I don't think Cable Television in general will fare well.
Bitcoin Crashes that bubble will usurp by the USD rally and countries cracking down on it.
USD Rallies to all time high. Almost 2USD to 1EURO

Like the Zika epidemic?

/post/1291511/2016-05-18-zika-funding-votes-upcoming-too-little-too-late-already Rew says
I'll call it right here: zika will be way worse and impactful to the US than ebola and the real tragedy is we won't do enough now and it will cost more lives and money in the long run. This may be a drastic example of the harm our bad governance inflicts on us.

Rew says
Kind of incredible that in the face of a disease almost certain to take up endemic root in the US, and be very difficult to control, the political machinery has been debating cost and are not acting.

So why didn't Obama save the millions and millions that died from it?

Rew says
You are on the wrong side of history, and as usual, it will just take you a little time to see it. :) In the meantime, enjoy Trump while he lasts.

Are we all still here, or did we all die of Zika?

Trump is still here, now what?

Stock market will be up in 2018. I expect the top to be in 2019 or 2020. Unemployment is very low, inflation will pick up, the Fed will continue rising rates and this will cause a correction. However, there are no signs for this at the moment.

Of course a Trump-induced political turmoil can mess/speed things up.

Muslims will continue to murder innocent people in the name of Islam. The perpetrators will come from multiple countries, in multiple colors and ethnicities, all motivated by the same hateful fraud fabricated by the dead charlatan Mohamed. Some will kill themselves in order to murder others, thus compounding the Islamic bloodshed of which the sadistic charlatan Mohamed would be very proud.

1. I agree with this one. I'll add the following: If there is another major terrorist event (very likely), Trump will blame the Democrats and 'their' 'sham' Russia investigation for people dying.
2. Trump remains very unpopular.
3. Trump and Un continue their pissing contest without blowing up the world. They both like the drama.
4. Trump continues to 'shock' people, go to war with the media, etc. If he really is going senile, his staff will do a good enough job at hiding it, that it won't be obvious. There will be more weary moments like the dentures one, as the schedule wears on the old fat man. Trump will start looking more haggard.
5. Dems clean up in 2018 elections. My guess is that they will take the house, but if they don't, they will surely gain seats.
6. The tax cuts do not have as big of an effect as promised. This will be debated, though. There is a temporary windfall as corps bring money home to distribute to the owner class.
7. Cuts to the MID do not lower prices as much as renters hope. Additionally, rents will go up, as more people decide to rent. Feel the squeeze renters. Being a landlord becomes a slightly better deal.
8. After removing the mandate, Obamacare becomes even more fucked up as prices go up for those who want insurance. The system blows up, and Trump blames Obama, even though the Reps destroyed it.
9. Republicans try to start hacking away at SS/Medicare. This is unpopular, and Trump tries to distance himself from Republicans, but the stink lingers.
18   Heraclitusstudent   2017 Dec 18, 10:46am

The republicans will ride Trumps to the ground: putting forward all the shameful laws they desperately want for him to sign.
Once his popularity sinks below 30% they'll turn around and throw him under the bus.
This is not gonna be a fun year for Trump.

At this point even the Liberal media knows Trump would be well within his reason to fire who ever he thought was being a seditious agent of destruction to his administration.
As the whole establishment has shown themselves to be. The noose is closing around a lot of necks that is why you have the Cockroaches scurrying and thrashing more violent with every hour. Even that Rat Bastard Eric Holder, the very first Villan to reveal himself in the Obama administration is weighing in threatening Trump and his Supporters with more Soros Riots.

You really have to ask yourself why Trump keeps refraining from firing everyone. AnonQ has been spot on so far.
There is absolutely no reason at all for Trump to keep him self neck deep in the Establishment Shit and witch hunt. Unless he has one hell of doozey in store for everyone with an Amazing reveal that is going to upstage George Washington as the Greatest American President.
I think he pulls the trigger on the swamp during the super Tuesday Primaries to give candidates friendly to Trumptonian causes a boost.

Liberal and Republican candidates running on the establishment divide and conquer politics of yesterday will be left dangling in the breeze as the axes start falling on them.

I think next year Trump not only works with Conservative Maga candidates, but Independent and Democrat ones as well where Establishment creeps are winning.
He needs bipartisan support to pull off the next two years of his presidency and get elected again in 2020. He's going to have to grow them from the campaign field and grow a fresh batch. The current Congress is rotten to the core.

Absolutely, like Zika, and I don't see you making a case for Ebola being more severe or greater threat. Zika has killed more and infected more, and is just waiting to flare back up out in the environment again. Ebola isn't going to do that natively in the US.

For 2018 though, I was thinking more an interesting new flu, maybe animal/livestock related. (shrug) Who knows, but there will for sure be something interesting, with potential global reach, happening in 2018.

Didn't we already get that?? It's called TDS, and it arrived in 2016, with little chance of letting up in 2018.

It's affecting almost half of the country and there is no cure. I would call TDS a definite pandemic.

US market will advance substantially 15% +
International markets will advance even more.

The biggest gains are to be gained just before we go down into recession. My humble guess is fall 2018 we will be sliding into recession.

It might be 2019 though.
34   Ironworker   2017 Dec 19, 10:58am

I'm planing to sell everything at around DOW - 29 000

I think people want to see it above 30 000 and it will get there. But it won't stay there for very long.

This is my I don't know anything being no pussy prediction.
35   Shaman   2017 Dec 19, 1:51pm

Dow 30k by November next year when the economic indicators come out. Brief slowdown for three months over the holidays as people ride the accelerating trend of “buying fewer presents for extended family and friends and instead having parties.”

Mueller exonerates Trump in a formal statement and then resigns, inspiring a National Democrat Day of TDS.

Trump fires McMasters and replaces with someone not so swampy.

Electric vehicles continue to rise in popularity.

Some states finish autonomous vehicle regulation overhaul and implement the rules, leading to a wave of autonomous vehicles on the road. This leads to dire predictions that never materialize.
Drunk driving begins to drop.

Investment in the USA increases significantly, as facilities come online with new manufacturing techniques, more skilled technicians are needed to manage and repair the modern factories.

We start exporting to China actual goods in exchange.

North Korea continues to simmer, but with growing impotence as the economic noose draws tighter.

The housing market continues to trend upwards, especially in areas where new construction is impossible. In areas where construction is possible, a massive wave of residential building ensues.

Following the trending internet sales phenomenon, Malls and strip malls across the country will be sold off, razed, and turned into trendy condos.

Being healthy and fit will be increasingly seen as a sign of wealth and status symbol. Gyms and health clubs will see a rise in membership. Organic food will continue to be ever more popular.

4% growth for the year triggers the first real inflation in decades, prompting the Fed to raise interest rates an entire percentage point. This puts pressure on the bond market, prompting fears about the national deficit. Republicans take another look at the budget with a mind toward spending cuts.

Democrats reprise GOP circa 2008-14 as the “Party of No” signaling their #resistance to each political move. This backfires badly as the escalating boom economy drives a midterm GOP victory, with the House picking up twenty seats and the Senate two.

Democrats spend the next Christmas season alternating between bemoaning the awful voters and wondering where they went wrong?

Schumer and Pelosi are dropped by year end.
36   Ceffer   2017 Dec 19, 1:53pm

37   WatermelonUniversity   2017 Dec 20, 12:24pm

I think SoCal home prices will go down with this tax bill if there will be a $10K cap for state income and property taxes combined.

Vegas market will continue to go up at least 6%. Inventory is very low for some reason.

AAPL will hit $200 and Apple will be the first one trillion dollar company.

Amazon and Google will go up another 25%-35%.
38   MisdemeanorRebel   2017 Dec 23, 2:49pm

Earlier next year, there will be one more attempt at Trump = Sexist.

Then an attempt that Trump = Racist

Then actually the Dems will return to typical "They wanna take away your Social Security" crap around the Elections.

Also: The Mueller investigation on TRUMP fades away, either because of continued emergence of flagrantly anti-Trump bias by investigators even before they were hired, or because Mueller himself winds things downs. Wild: Mueller pivots to John Podesta.

FINALLY, when the Dems do poorly in 2018, the SJWs will demand it's because the Democratic Party is too racist, sexist, and homophobic, while the Neoliberals argue it's because they haven't defended the "Amazing Economy since Clinton" and they need to double down on TPP, Mass Immigration, etc.
