#Economics

Why do Right Wingers hate freedom?

Why do Right Wingers demand that Americans sit back and watch Canada front run on this emerging marketplace?

Why do Right Wing SJWs continue to demand large government intrude on people’s lives, and prohibit the citizens from having access to natural medicine?

Why do Right Wingers continue to hamper economic activity and deny Americans good paying jobs?

What is wrong with Republicans?

Why don’t the Democrats pass a law that legalizes marijuana federally? They had eight long years to do so, and still have never voted on a serious bill. If they did, they could at least put the GOP in the hot seat forcing each rep to choose how his or her constituents would wish. I’m betting it wouldn’t be a party line vote at all. But somehow, no matter which party is in charge, we never have a bill! What’s up with that? Could it be that maybe the Deep State doesn’t want it to happen? That same Deep State that hates Trump? That same swamp that Trump says he wants to drain?
Sure, Sessions isn’t the guy who will make the laws more flexible to accommodate “winking” at pot legal states, but he shouldn’t have to! We should have better laws!

“Liberal” states have positioned themselves on the other side of the Christian Republican War Against the Citizenry. Imagine if you lived in a MAGA/Red Republican state, you’d be guilty of crimes that could land you in prison. Must be nice

Trump is harming the economy SO MUCH. All this extra stock market money is such a hassle to manage.

All drugs should be legalized. The war on drugs has failed miserably and it goes against basic civil liberties. Interestingly Obama raided dispensaries (and raw dairy farmers) while Bush left the states alone. Hope this administration will do the same eventually and let Sessions talk just be hot air.

Pretty much only by public referendum! California, arguably the most liberal state in the union, couldn’t even pass a bill in our state legislature legalizing weed. And Democrats have a SUPERmajority! It took a proposition on the ballot to pass that law by direct public vote! See the pattern yet?

I agree with this mostly. The reality is there seems to be a bigger health crisis with technically legal, prescribed drugs in this country. Going back to the basics of this site, I actually think a Realtor taking 6% from you, on say two house sales over your lifetime, is better then having a doctor prescribe you something highly addictive and can eventually kill you. Realtors of course can suck an STD infected wang.

I think some doctors and pharmacist (not all) need to get the Realtor treatment considering they're messing with lives and not just $20-30k over the average persons lifetime. I don't know if it's because of the education and the hurdles to enter the field, but I don't don't see a whole lot of push back against doctors all that often (excluding ones that have legitimately fucked up). We seem to question a lot of other higher educated professions a lot harder then doctors. Maybe this is just my perception of how things are though and not reality.

I won't even take Tylenol anymore though. Our society has grow so accustomed to just throwing some pill at a problem and hasn't been trying to figure out and fix the actual problems. So maybe it's not all on the doctors, but some of these drugs for pain being prescribed should go away in my estimation.

I actually stumbled across this article in a news feed somewhere about a day or so ago. Long read, but worth it if you're into this topic. I'll admit i scanned it quickly, so didn't pick everything up: https://www.theguardian.com/news/2017/dec/05/portugals-radical-drugs-policy-is-working-why-hasnt-the-world-copied-it

There are definitely nuances to this stuff, but legalizing all drugs would very likely result in a better life and society for everyone. The war against drugs should be listed as a synonym for insanity. It hasn't worked... at all.

This is one topic I never understood. Recreational pot use should be legalized.

As a former Democrat, and now Republican, I think both parties dropped the ball on this one.

TwoScoops, wrong thread or did you get yourself some good weed? I'll agree though, more jobs for more people is a positive. Just think of how many more jobs could be created with federally taxed weed! I'll be the first to sign up for the USDW (United State Department of Weed). Get myself a pension dammit!

Was going by the title and some of the posts.

Of course I agree with legalized weed. I don't think it's the defining issue of our times, but it will eventually be legal. What's also disturbing is anti-Vape laws, particularly on airplanes. There's literally no health reason to ban vapes, and the Tobacco Industry and the Government have fallen over themselves trying to find something, some chemical, some weak connection, that would justify banning it.

I would also legalize Laudanum, but probably not heroin. Make it so damn cheap finding a few dozen cans to recycle would keep you high for days, which would nix most crime.

But I also believe in lifelong driving bans under the influence of any drug. Including prescription drugs that say "Don't Drive".

I'd also love to have Laudenum available for Suicide, since I think it's a human right for the terminally ill to kill themselves.

Obsessed much?

Try defining right wingers for us, without using a generic fantasy caricature. I don't think you know who you are talking about. I certainly don't.

I lived in Chicago for 15 years before moving to Texas. Every day people in both places are equally in favor of marijuana legalization. Errc is for a partisan pissing match. Sigh, i though pat.net was better now...

What about guns, should it apply to guns also? If whatever you’re consuming makes one unfit to operate a motor vehicle, it most certainly makes sense that you are also unfit to wield firearms, no?

Wrong. I’m for freedom and liberty, for all. Republicans are in charge of every branch of government, and they continue to support the Failed Loser Prohibition. Trump assigned a halfwit nutjob as AG in Sessions, who continues to threaten to terrorize any American who utilizes flowers. I thought you guys supposedly desired a return to law & order. How does continuing Cannabis Prohibition at the Federal level allow for a “return to law and order”.

It’s simple. Try to stay on subject here.

By Right Winger i mean all the people that continually support Republicans while always bashing “liberals”. By Right Wing SJW I’m referring to the nitwits that practice Christianity, you know the OG SJW

I agree w you there. Trump's options for personnel have been extremely limited, considering the swamp protects the swamp. Trump has made many poor choices within his appointees.

So you arent talking about trump supporters.

Also, since the bush family and mccain are anti-trump and pro hillary, by your definition Hillary is more right wing than Trump.

Glad we agree again. That's twice in one day, fricken bizarre.

If you consumed a gun, it would get stuck in your throat and kill you.

AFAIK, there are already laws against unlawful discharge of firearms and I assume some states give you extra time for doing so when intoxicated. Of course I support that.

I do hope you aren't one of those people who thinks driving high is okay and not a big deal and should be decriminalized.
