A 31-year-old career politician has taken the lead in the race for Austrian chancellor in a campaign dominated by immigration, a fear of radical Islam and a lurch to the right.

Sebastian Kurz, the country's Federal Minister for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs, is polling 34 per cent ahead of Sunday's election.

Once considered centre-right, Eva Linsinger of Austrian news magazine Profil says Mr Kurz has shifted the Austrian People's Party into a right-wing populist movement little different to the country's Freedom Party.

The left will be losers as long as they hate their own people and tell them they should come second. Globally. This movement is just getting started. People have realized that everything will be taken from them as any advantages they once had with their citizen status are dismantled by the regressive left, which once wayy back in the days actually had a patriotic and protectionist core. It's not about specifically voting right. It's about NOT voting left and protect their identities, cultures and religion(s).
