WASHINGTON – U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) deportation officers apprehended 650 individuals during a four-day operation last week, Operation Border Guardian/Border Resolve, which targeted individuals who entered the country as unaccompanied alien children (UACs) and family units.

This operation was the second iteration of Operation Border Guardian/Border Resolve which first took place in January and February 2016 in response to the significant spike in families and UACs from Central America attempting to illegally cross the southern border.

All of the individuals targeted during this operation had been issued a final order of removal by a federal immigration judge, and had no appeals or motions to re-open their case pending before the nation’s immigration courts.

Of the 650 arrested nationwide July 23 to 26, 73 were members of family units and 120 entered the country illegally as UACs. An additional 457 others encountered during this operation were also arrested.

One-hundred and thirty of the 650 had criminal convictions in addition to being in the country illegally, for crimes including but not limited to DUI, assault and battery, drug possession, domestic abuse and sexual assault.

The UACs targeted for arrest during this operation had either reached the age of 18 or were at least 16 and had criminal histories and/or suspected gang ties.

Out of 12 million illegals are there only 130 criminals? WTF. Every illegal criminal must be deported immediately. I want them out now. Please take a few of our legal criminals with you too, when you leave. We have no use for them.

They could have gotten more than that at any Tyson food processing plant. Whoops, can;t go there, campaign contributions and all that.

Is every single illegal immigrant a criminal by definition? Or must they be an illegal immigrant and commit at least one additional crime (like jay-walking) before they are a criminal?

Definition of illegal
: not according to or authorized by law
Definition of criminal
1 : relating to, involving, or being a crime

7-11 did make campaign contributions to Trump.

First off the correct link to the article is this:
http://www.newsweek.com/trump-immigration-and-customs-enforcement-ice-raids-7-eleven-management-777220

Which states:
The enforcement effort at 7-Eleven comes with some irony. The company’s president and CEO, Joseph DePinto, contributed $2,000 to Trump’s presidential campaign in 2016, federal records show.

Well if you cross into Mexico illegally, you get thrown in prison. You cross into Canada illegally, you are held as well.

I don't understand why the U.S is the only country expected to have porous borders and then once the illegals get in, you're supposed to spend taxpayer money to give them all sorts of entitlements.

Leftist assholes want Canada's health care system but they don't want Canada's illegal immigration policies. It's weird.

Please tell us specifics about the "Canada's illegal immigration policies." How are they tougher and better enforced than the American?

If one likes a given country's health care system they must also like their immigration system? Not allowed to like one but not the other?

Speaking of porous borders, when I drive into Mexico, nobody even checks my documents. When I fly to EU, the immigration officer looks at my doc's and waves me in without any words spoken. When I cross into the US, I am subject to an interrogation.

Sure. If you are caught crossing illegally into Canada, you are arrested usually by RCMP.

From there you are taken to the closest CBSA POE to be held and then eventually questioned by law enforcement for why you illegally crossed into Canada.

After getting a health check, and then determined if you are "asylum eligible" (which most aren't), or "inadmissible" you are held until deportation. Fines, or even jail time can also be imposed. If you are dealing in illegal trade, you will see prison time and fines in the thousands. This man got 2 months in jail for illegally entering.

Yes, people pick and choose what they want based on their political ideology and beliefs. It's not because "certain countries do things better", it's "I want a system that does this, even though i LIVE in a country that doesn't do it this way, so I'm going to make some false claim that some other country does it better, and constantly bitch about wanting that system here instead of moving to that country which does it the way I want."

In a nut shell. All very weak reasoning.

Nothing wrong with wanting to change/improve things the country you live. What is wrong with observing how things are done in other countries and learning from them?

So if one does not like something (out of many aspects) in the country they live, they should move to another country, rather than try to change things? Quite a logic!

FP, Welfare States are a social contract. People agree to tax themselves to get some entitlements/safety net. People agree to have politicians fund industries so high tech jobs of the future are available for their kids.

Mass Immigration breaks the contract because people who haven't contributed into the system begin receiving benefits. Foreigners arrive, legally and illegally, and and take the jobs the previous generation agreed to subsidize for their children. Not the children of the World.

That's why a welfare state and immigration are incompatible.

TwoScoops, this is beyond the point (of my exchange with Goran) but Canada and Australia. Canada has more immigration per capita than the US.

Illegal immigration? I know leftist tend to conflate the two but there is a difference between immigration and illegal immigration.

This is why illegal immigration is so disastrous to a society. You won't see UK, Japan, or Canada accept illegal immigration like leftist have here in the U.S. It's basic logic that illegals are a break in the social contract.

"interrogation" - a hyperbole to describe the usual (for most people, not me alone) US border crossing process in comparison(!) to that of the other countries that I mentioned previously

Elizabeth Warren's rant can be summarized like this, "DREAMERS are future Democrat voters, I don't care that they take opportunities away from actual citizens, I'll take the 100% Democrat vote every single time."

It's not my experience at all.

On the contrary: Trump offered a blanket amnesty for DACA folks if Congress would get serious about immigration reform.
Warren and her ilk said no, and never even tried to make a deal. Clearly, they aren’t serious about legalizing DACA either, and all their rhetoric is just political hot air.

Because I am bilingual I know a ton of illegals, both in California and Florida.

They run the gamut from a Colombian who over stayed her tourist visa to young illiterates from southern Mexico, to Guatemalans who never saw a toilet before they arrived.

They all know that they are stealing our benefits, and use all available methods to game the system.

Not only them, I know Japanese females who married for a visa then divorced.

I have been asked to marry; Japanese, Chinese, Mexican, Colombian, Venezuelan females. Some offered compensation; Latinas offered pussy and promises of money later. No way Jose.

The “dreamers” can go home and will get along just fine, as will the rest of them.

Round them up and send them back, all of them.
