Why do their reported holdings fluctuate so much? This is probably just routine petro-dollar transactions. Will be interesting to watch this trend though

Russia's overall reserves have fluctuated wildly the past few years as they sold their treasuries when sanctions were instituted. Then they ramped up gold purchases. Seems now as they are rebuilding reserves they are replacing some of their treasuries holdings that they sold a few years back
