And if she wins, it's because people are racist!

This is an excellent dilemma for France.

Maximum cognitive dissonance!

Unfortunately the people supporting her are not the people reaping the benefits of Frances socialist lifestyle.

I love how "Independent" Macron is, despite his life long Government Administrator Role, being marked by former French Presidents (I think Mitterand but don't remember) as a future President, and a stint at Rothschild bank. That he strongly supports the EU, Immigrants, and his "Just put with it" attitude about Terrorism. That strikes me as the Bankster-Eurocrat line rather than anything "Independent".

Seems like France has bigger things to worry about than sexism.

You might be thinking of President Mitterand's son Frédéric Mitterrand. President Mitterrand died when Emmanuel Macron was 19.

Trump never had to call himself an "independent."

A decent Chinese restaurant will never say "Authentic Chinese Food - NO MSG" on the door.

I chanced upon it again - it was HOLLANDE that picked Macron for a Ministry. Basically, the Center-left rebranded themselves under Macron to dodge their unpopularity. The French Socialists embraced the 4th Reich and abandoned the working class long ago. Remember Hollande's promise to halt "reforms" of the work week, benefits, etc.? I don't think it was 72 hours after getting elected where he reversed himself and doubled down on austerity.
