1/30 - 2/3 Week in Recap: Based on twitter trends, press conferences, and coverage, I think the outcome is clear. Twitter is laughing at the Trump Admin. almost daily with the trending hashtags. Trump may have a flurry of the pen (executive orders), and appeal to the base, but with movements like #PressOn, raising huge money for traditional media, and pushing outlets like the NYTimes to the higher subscription and readership than ever, this week was a solid Media Win. I award +1 point to the kale smoothie sanctuary bathroom establishment. Their coverage on the travel ban protests was good and had plenty of heartstrings tug moments as children, elderly, intelligence operatives got caught in the crossfire. They ran footage of a solider giving an Iraqi his purple heart and saying welcome to the USA. Media now reporting on the pushback in the legal sphere as things are unpacked further and counter orders are being issued against the ban/clarifying things.
Kellyanne is asking for leniency for "honest mistakes" as well. Waving the white flag already?

This is so true. Trump played the media all the way to the White House by poking them just in the right place, speaking the unspeakable, over and over. They put him in the headlines day after day because they hated him, and yet that granted him such massive free publicity that everyone knew every word he said.
And even now, they still don't quite understand how expertly they have been played. They continue to promote the Trump brand every day in the headline of every legacy paper with their shrill and slightly demented wailings which just make Trump look like the reasonable one.
It's beautiful in a way.

LOL. The president is losing face pretty fast in the face of the media right now and their support is swelling not diminishing. There is nothing shrill or unmeasured about how the good media outlets are representing what is occurring. It's amazingly good, and I think it's just going to keep getting better, as they distance themselves form the Whitehouse more fully.
Legacy papers? Like the NYT? They hit a record at the end of 2016, and 2nd quarter for them is going to be something incredible, I think.

Oh, nice. Spicer has released the attacks claimed to be underreported by Western media (78 in all). Outlets already noting highly covered attacks on the list. Haha. Someone will do a good analysis here and fire back. I hope Spicer gets some more questions from the press on this. What a bunch of smoke and BS.

Week of 2/11/17 Recap - Disastrous week for camp Trump and mostly self inflicted. Media continues to point at the falsehoods the Trump administration are circulating. Kellyanne had an especially miserable week (Nordstroms conflict of interest, and the bowling green massacre won't die). Spicer was the subject, of what many argue, is one of the finest and most memorable SNL skits ever directed at him. The President forced back to the drawing board on the Travel Ban EO. "Things are working out very nicely"?

The funny this is he's getting his entire cabinet appointed, while the Media is claiming a clear, trouncing victory because the 9th without considering of precedence, let the TRO stand. And they skipped over the other Federal Judge shooting down the limited TRO that was first filed on the East Coast, and are trying to ignore the en blanc request from other judges of the 9th to empanel the whole Court not just 3 judges.

Frankly, I find that the major media outlets have attained amazingly accurate and consistent reporting methods...insomuch that virtually everything reported is assured to be either false in it's entirety or a perversion of the truth. Which is nice, since it saves having to weigh facts...... I make certain never to miss their news, for that reason.

But, if you would like me to refute your little graphic ... you just showed that the NYT has as many real followers as Trump, and that doesn't show growth in followers, subscribers, or unique hits to the site over time.
The NYT doubled its subscribers to the site in 2016, and has experienced a BOOM in digital subscriptions in 2017, partly because of Trump. This is translating nicely to their bottom line as well. Here is the past 6 months, roughly since Trump took office ...
Similarly, WaPo, the Atlantic, others all experiencing good digital growth, as print fades, and Trump does Trump. ;)
