...and that's why Iran and Russia can take the moral and ethical high ground against us. Yes, Iran and Russia. Fuck that's a red flag.

America is not a free country when our government gets away with the heinous crime of imprisoning people without trial or evidence or the crime of committing torture.

The politicians who have supported the illegal and permanent imprisonment of other people should face the exact same consequences. They should imprisoned for life for these crimes.

I don't have time to watch the thing, but I'd bet he does not mention Obama's campaign promise to shut down Guantanamo or Obama's signing of the NDAA which allows indefinite detention of Americans without trial.

But he certainly will mention it over and over when it's on Trump's watch.

Because he's partisan, not objective.

You would have lost that bet. Jon Oliver mentions quite a bit in the video of how many times Obama promised to shut down Gitmo and broke that promise. Obama does not come out looking good in the video, and he should not.

Perhaps you should take the time to watch the video. Oliver's analysis is correct. Yes, Oliver does at the end of the video mention that people who trust Obama should still be against such unchecked power because Trump could be the next president (video before election results), but his point stands. No one in government should have the unchecked power to permanently imprison anyone without trial.

Yes, Oliver is clearly anti-Trump, and has ignored the evil deeds of Hillary out of Trump fear, but that doesn't mean he's wrong.

Everything is partisan these days. The question is which sources lie and which don't. Jon Oliver doesn't lie. And you don't have to agree with him or any other person or organization 100% of the time to acknowledge what they are right about. The best approach is to take in information from a wide range of sources that have 80% or better accuracy and then filter and compare them.

Given that what is newsworthy depends on one's value, I ask what exactly would constitute a 100% non-partisan and objective news feed?
