I noticed that Sam Harris didn't even use the word liberal. Sam Harris is a liberal like me, and the example he gave, Obama, is not a liberal. Sure, a liberal could be intellectually dishonest and pretend that Islamic terrorism has nothing to do with Islam, but that's unlikely. It's far more likely that a leftist would do that, and leftists are conservatives.

Here's another liberal and rationalist talking about Islam.

In one brief moment, Hillary Clinton acknowledged on CNN that lethal terrorism "is clearly rooted in Islamic thinking...." CNN omitted that from their own transcript of their own show, until after other websites picked up on it. In retrospect, I think the Clinton News Network tried repeatedly to save her from herself, even in 2008 steering a debate away from what was then called "Hillary's Plan" (currently DBA Obamneycare). To her credit, she stands ready to advocate for her policies, but somehow she doesn't see them for the disasters that they are. To this day, Hillary supporters object when I say that Islamic terrorism is clearly rooted in Islamic thinking, and then they don't know what to say when I quote her (and the Koran) saying the same. Chapter 8 of the Koran: strike terror into the enemies of Allah, "the worst beasts" are those who don't believe in Allah; Chapters 2&9, "kill the disbelievers wherever you find them," etc. Then the democrats campaigned on importing more jihadis, even while everyone could see that endangers Americans.

Btw I'm not sure "rationalist" means what you think it means: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rationalism
"In epistemology, rationalism is the view that "regards reason as the chief source and test of knowledge" or "any view appealing to reason as a source of knowledge or justification"".
This is not exactly just belief in reason in general.
For example I'm sure you believe just as much in empiricism (knowledge comes the senses/ from observing the world), that has been opposed to rationalism in many cases, and realism (the belief that there is a physical universe independent of the observer).

I don't care what the latest troll wrote on Wikipedia. Anonymous propaganda means nothing.

A rationalist is someone who uses reasoning and evidence to reach conclusions as oppose to using faith, superstition, and/or feelings. A rationalist believes in verifiable (at least to a large extent) objective facts rather than appealing to ancient rules, holy books, tradition, mystical beliefs, and other unchallengeable assertions. The common definition will suffice. I don't care about esoteric definitions of unemployed philosophers.

I also believe that our governmental policies should be based on facts and sound reasoning rather than the whim of mobs, ignorance, greed, and fearful reactions.

Too bad conservatives can't talk honestly about the Crime Against Humanity & the
Maiming & Death inflicted on american servicemen & the financial cost of their unfunded war based on their LIE that IRAQ HAS WMD.
