Lenin's portrate has nothing to do with the activity; it was probably hanging on most walls.
Soviet video game. The image comes from the Soviet Pong national championship among children under eight, mixed doubles division. It was broadcast nationwide on the only TV channel, thus achieving a 100% Neilsen share. Notice also the height of Soviet fashion: each girl has a purple hat, though one size fits none, even at that age. Fashion choices were limited back then also; this outfit was called "summer." You can see why visiting tourists were often offered money for American jeans, or practically any long trousers. Shirts were only for children of commisars.
Bilirubin treatment? Bilirubin is a toxic compound made from the break down of hemoglobin. A light source in the range of 450 nm to 500 nm is used to photoisomerize Bilirubin so it can be excreted from the body and maintain the Bilirubin concentrations at safe levels?

They would probably be wasting their time.
A Russian friend sent me this picture and told me what it is. Any guesses?
