My Debate predictions:

* Hillary will immediately sign on to debates, provided the questions are given to the candidates in advance and exclude any third parties.

She needs to do this because he main thrust has to be "He's nuts, I'm stale and boring. Don't choose crazy, and there are only two choices."

* She'll want the straightest, least innovative, boring debates with 2 minute responses and maybe a 2 minute counter response. She'll want the candidates to have the right to review and reject ALL questions unilaterally in advance. She won't want any free form sessions included in the debate.

* Any attempt by Trump to demand that Johnson and/or Stein be included will be characterized as "Scared."

* Any attempt by Trump to demand at least a free form session during the debates will be rejected by Hillary. She sucks on her feet, without teleprompter assistance.

Now Hillary holds the cards here. If Trump declines to debate under her and her MSM's allies' conditions, he'll be labelled as "Scared" or "Weak". Keep in mind this was the same #NeverTrump crowd that crowed about how dangerous a debater Ted Cruz was.

We also saw in the Republican debate after NH, how the Media packed the crowd with neocons, lobbyists, and country club republicans in order to try to stump the Trump. It backfired on them.

What he might want to do is hold a Debate between himself and Johnson and Stein, and remind everybody that Hillary herself was too "Scared" to participate, and is "Inflexible".

Another trick is to announce a $10M Charity Debate with less formal rules, invite everybody. The third party folks will jump at the chance to get on TV for an hour or so, leaving Hillary in a rough spot.

Remember, Trumpeteers: There is no Debate Laws in the Constitution. Debates happen however they happen.

Well, let's see, given free form of his own mic, no gotcha questions, just speaking all on his own, Drumpf shoots himself in the foot over and over and over...

Meanwhile, 11 hours of hostile attacking congressional questions, and Hillary left the entire panel "bleeding from their GOP whatevers"...

So, BULLSHIT!

in a regular debate, she will likely mop the floor with trump as he makes unforced mistake after unforced mistake.

Yeah, like in the countless Republican Debates with a field of 17 candidates. He really got creamed there. Meanwhile, Bernie, a little known Jewish Socialist from a rural State, battered the hell out of Hillary, who only had 3 opponents, 2 (O'Malley, Webb) of whom were gone after Iowa. Shit, Webb suspended in like November.

In a typical Democratic Nomination Season, Bernie would never have polled above 15% in any primary or caucus except maybe VT itself. It's because Hillary sucks!

3   FuckTheMainstreamMedia   2016 Aug 9, 6:53pm

And that's with Bernie being a pussy and failing to go for the jugular on Shrilary.

Yeah, "litlle marco" "low energy Bush", "lying Ted"

Nobody called him for his grade school level insults and lack of policy in the GOP "he will fade soon and I want to pick up his completely retarded supporters" primary. Those days are passing quickly. The real question, is when does the majority of the GOP leave him.

There were a lot more problems with Bernie supporters at the DNC than with Cruz #NeverTrumpers at the RNC. Philly was far more contested than Cleveland, far more arrests, turning the lights off on entire sections of the hall to disappear their signs and catcalls.

Of course there were! Shillary is a CorporateClinton.

Laughable. You obviously haven't wanted any of the previous debates with Trump. And I still want to know what filthy third world country you are from.

Hillary? Debates?

Last i remember was deafening jeers whdn she was questioned on releasing the transcripts from her wallstreet speeches. Then she agreed to release them. So what happened? Are the democrats so brainwashed by the oligarchs to bleet on mindlessly about how dangerous Trump is, to actually hold their candidate accountable.

Scary stuff. Who will hold her accountable for all the lies?

The general election is very different than the primary. The other candidates were afraid to hit Trump too hard and offend his supporters because they would need them in the future. Hillary has no such restriction.

Again-what worked in the primary won't work in the general. As Trump has found out over the last several weeks.

We will have to see who kicks who's ass in the debates. More people are going to be tiring of Donnie's antics, and the press has more history with him. There is more ammo in terms of questions for him. IMO, people are going to want to see a more measured person at this point. There's some proof that his schtick is not working in the general, and that he is plowing forward anyway. Maybe it will work better with the wider audience that the debates will bring. The reason he doesn't want to go against football is that their audience overlaps with his demographic. He's afraid they would rather watch football than get a dose of Donnie's sunshine.

But has failed horribly in this election so far. If I recall correctly, several states he called for Hillary to win easily went to Sanders by a strong margin.

"simulating the election" of "possible outcomes"

Garbage in - garbage out.

How did Nate's "possible outcome" of Trump's nomination work out? Did he "simulate" that too?

wtf are you talking about. Those are the current state polling averages.

The Debates: Hillary's Tactics

I'm looking forward to the Hillary vs Trump penis size debate. Who has the bigger one? Clearly Hillary's is hairier, and that might make it look smaller than it is. Will she trim herself for the debate? Inquiring minds want to know.

There really is only one candidate with balls ... and no, it isn't little tantrum Trump.

Edited: switched "she" to "it" to disambiguate.

Hey Trump absolutely wants to debate...

As long as he can renegotiate the terms set out by the non partisan debate commission starting a year ago. He might want to renegotiate the dates, length of debates, moderators, etc. He probably also wants to negotiate the room temperature and lighting.

Meanwhile...
"Clinton’s campaign said Monday that it had accepted the invitation to the debates, and tried to ratchet up the pressure on Trump to participate."

It seems that Hillary is indeed the one with the balls.

They must be REALLY nervous now!

Trump has HRC on the ropes, but she is bravely hanging in there. With the help of CNN and Nate Silver to prop up her spirits, she will carry on. Us TDS folks are shaking in our boots from the fear of an Orange Dynasty.

21   MisdemeanorRebel   2016 Aug 10, 2:26pm

Remember what the DNC did for Clinton in their "only need 3, very early debates" last year? Trump won't let her get away with it.

"Twas the last Saturday before Christmas... when all through the house, nobody would watch a debate, allowing Hillary to hide like a mouse."
https://www.thenation.com/article/democrats-debate-in-the-shadows-of-a-saturday-night-before-christmas/

Remember that the same lamestream media that is batting for Hillary says there is precedent, totally normal for every time slot and process that Hillary wants. At the same time arguing that debate formats and times are open and nobody should complain if any unusual time slots or formats are chosen.

Then watch them go completely apeshit if Trump decides to have a debate with the third party candidates, and the media starts whinging about it.

Trump should offer a "Charity Debate" with all 4 Candidates with the money to go to the Red Cross or Veteran's Groups. That way if Hillary refuses to show she looks like the ass she is.

Her tactic is to keep a low profile and cling to the "Boring, but safe" idea.

Were there any pro Hillary emails from that time period, or did they start when it was obvious to everybody but Bernie who was going to win? Also, what the hell is Hillary doing to Trump regarding the debates? They were set by a 3rd party a year ago. How could she possibly have conspired to set it up against Trump?

23   MisdemeanorRebel   2016 Aug 10, 2:36pm

I'm talking about the Dem Debates last year, that were set and organized by Wasserman at the DNC. Every debate time was chosen for maximum low viewership. Read the article I linked to.

Unfortunately, this consequential Saturday night debate was held on a Saturday night. And not just any Saturday night—the last one before the last great pause in the political calendar that comes during the period from Christmas to New Year’s Day.

“I guess Christmas Eve was booked,” Michael Briggs, a spokesman for Sanders, told The New York Times.

“They’ve scheduled it during shopping season, December 19th,” complained O’Malley, whose campaign needs all the debate exposure it can get. “I don’t know why that is. I think it’s out of a false sense that they have to circle the wagons around the inevitable front-runner.”

Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz and her aides beg to differ, as they prattle on about “robust” viewership.

That’s just silly. The latest debate attracted a mere 6.71 million viewers, the lowest number so far for any 2016 debate organized by the DNC or the RNC. Saturday night’s debate was such a flop that it barely attracted one quarter of the viewership of the most watched Republican debate.

(Link in above post)

The article continues:

A “Christmas Special” debate, scheduled to compete with last-minute shopping, partying, and traveling was never going to rival the ratings for the various and sundry Republican debates—which so far have been held on a Thursday night, a Wednesday night, a Wednesday night, a Tuesday night, and a Tuesday night. The next Republican debate will be held on a Thursday night, as will the one after that. Only on rare Saturday nights before the New Hampshire and South Carolina primaries—when, presumably, lots of folks will be paying attention—will the Republicans dare a weekend debate.

The DNC emails prove a fix was in, so I'm not taking the DNC at their word anymore.

24   MisdemeanorRebel   2016 Aug 10, 2:41pm

More from the Nation Article:

Their November Democratic debate was on a Saturday night in Des Moines. From a viewership standpoint, it was a disaster. That debate attracted only around 8.5 million viewers—barely one-third of the total that watched the first Republican debate. The response of the O’Malley campaign to those numbers was the right one: “We can’t fool ourselves—the Republicans are eating our lunch in terms of attention and viewership because of the unprecedented, unilateral, and arbitrary way the DNC Chair determined this schedule,” said O’Malley deputy campaign manager Lis Smith.

So what are the Democrats doing? Holding more weekend debates.

The only December Democratic debate was on Saturday night in Manchester. The next Democratic debate will be on Sunday night in Charleston—but it won’t be on the Saturday night before the South Carolina primary; it will be held a month before South Carolinians go to vote.

Every one of the three official debates was held on a weekend, low viewership night, on purpose, by the DNC.

It wasn't just Bernie who noticed, but O'Malleyt also.

They shit is all over facebook feed for days afterwards, so the information still gets out.

USUALLY, someone leading in the polls would want not to debate. After all, you are on a path to win, so don't do anything, but if you make a mistake, you could lose.

however, I think hillary is looking forward to wiping the floor with him, and having fact checkers ream him for days after each one.

It seems unlikely, given the level of thinking you show on here, but maybe if you worked hard, you could pass the class?

I actually contacted him, and he will be posting here again, at least one or two posts.

He laughed about you. so, here are a couple of things he told me:

1. 250 students a year, so a couple of complaints don't really matter.
2. His paychecks come in the same!
3. He has filed his retirment paperwork, so who gives an F!
4. You and every other asshole on here has likely rated him too.
5. Pension of $69,000 a year, and 16 rentals netting $11K a month, even factoring in maintenance and vacancy.
6. Moving to asia with his fiance, having a family next year at 53... probably never coming back.

I wish I had his setup!
