there is no global warming, that this is a fraud to restrain the industrial development of several countries - Putin.
"We found that, while climate change does exist, it is cyclical, and the anthropogenic role is very limited," he said. "It became clear that the climate is a complicated system and that, so far, the evidence presented for the need to 'fight' global warming was rather unfounded."

I think just about everyone disagrees with Obama and his usual bullshit global warming story. Except for Obamas trusty cohorts of frightened leftists who fear the end is near because their messiah Obama said so. Almost ironic that they think religion is silly, and yet believe silly stories coming from Obama.

Global warming is real.
Global warming will happen with or without industrial pollution.
The only question is how much of an impact IP is having percentagewise versus natural cyclical temperature change, and how much capital should one country invest in attempting to slow it down given that the vast majority of the world, responsible for 75% of pollution, will not participate.

This was Al Gores invention, he crafted while he was sore loser sulking in a hole somewhere. Where he swore he would exact revenge on those bastards for not voting for him.
It was a most inconvenient development for him. Very traumatic, and he want's everyone to hurt. And if he can get richer while injecting his evil plan, then the more better.

I say we should put Putin and Al Gore in a death caged match. Two may enter, but only the truth will exit.

I always believe those who's country is involved in fossil fuels.

5   marcus   2015 Oct 31, 9:53am

Yeah, Russia has the eighth largest oil reserves, but their economy depends on that revenue more than the economies of some bigger oil reserve countries such as Canada does.

Is anyone surprised that Fortwayne thinks Putin is more credible than the consensus of the entire Western Worlds scientific community ? OH, yeah, I almost forgot, the dimbulbs respect Putin, because he reminds them of Donald Trump.

6   Shaman   2015 Oct 31, 10:52am

Putin is leading Russia forward to a better future and has 79% approval rating.
Obama is clearly leading America backward to a worse future and has a 34% approval rating.
Any questions?

7   marcus   2015 Oct 31, 11:50am

Putin is more or less a dictator.

OBama was prevented from leading by an increasingly entrenched and very ill GOP that would rather destroy this country than see a successful "democrat" leader.

Through redistricting, the republicans have a sick straglehold over congress, with many of the freshman members having far too much power in districts designed to be held in perpetuity by whomever the Koch brothers choose.. It's so sick. MEanwhile moderate republicans such as Quigley think this is all just fine and dandy. As a sign of the times Donald Trump is on the way to being the next republican nominee for President.

Any questions ?

Rep. Paul Ryan has agreed to delay a discussion about reforming the procedural motion used to remove a House speaker, a major concession to the House Freedom Caucus. The Wisconsin Republican, now the presumptive next speaker of the House, delivered the message to Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, the chairman of the Freedom Caucus, according to multiple sources familiar with the discussion. Possible changes to the so-called motion to vacate will now come as part of a larger discussion of reworking internal party and House rules.

there could be many reasons behind the politicization of the fucking weather...

if you consider the amount of debt lingering out there, as well as the global economic conditions - one perhaps wouldn't be stretching to see that world leaders are in a bind and they need a boogeyman to blame really bad to help them out. AGW is one of the most perfect scapegoats in the history of mankind, to convince people of de-growth.

of course, the leaders themselves are ALWAYS to blame - so take all of it in with a grain of salt. the media in the west are blasting AGW at every chance they get. that is no accident, as the younger generations are going through downward-mobiltiy.

as for the concept of climate change without the man-made bullshit, only a retard would think that the entire solar system isn't subject to major issues at any given time. i mean, a god damn meteor could wipe us out next week.

Most of the world's land mass is above 20 degrees North. Much of it is sub arctic or arctic. Buy Canadian Boreal Forest and Russian Taiga land now, at a low price, and profit from endless rye and barley farms in the future. The black earth runs deep, and once it's no longer subject to deep permafrost, will be incredibly fertile due to milenia of decomposing plants, pine needles and silt from the rivers from the receeding glaciers, doesn't need even the slightest sprinkle of fertilizer.

The homestead act is on in Russia, Come and Get it. One Hectare free!
http://siberiantimes.com/business/others/news/n0103-come-and-get-it-free-land-soon-up-for-grabs-to-every-resident-in-far-east/

(actually one hectare in Siberia is pretty weak, but the Duma is putting all these low interest loans and grants for current farmers).

Last I saw the only scientists who do agree with Global warming, are those who are paid to agree with it by Obama administration. While left wing media almost like Indiana Jones film moment screams that our "top men" are supporting the idea.

It's all BS marcus, Obama tried to pull a fast one on everyone and lost. And by the way dailykos isn't news bud, Simpsons are more credible as news source than biased articles on dailykos.

You're an idiot. I don't even believe you're a real person. You're a liberal trying to make republicans look like morons. Either that, or possibly patrick, trying to add lively "debate" to this forum.

There is absolutely no way that you are a real person.

everyone with half a brain knows that climate doth change. it's the fraud/scam/politicization of the "anthropogenic" portion that weak minds/hearts and the self-loathing are falling for.

from the north dakota gov site:

"During the Cretaceous, from about 90 million to 65 million years ago, North Dakota was either completely or partially covered by subtropical to warm temperate, shallow epicontinental seas. These seas occupied what was called the Western Interior Seaway, essentially the North American mid-continent. The seas were never very deep, perhaps a few hundred feet at most, and at their greatest extent they connected the Arctic Ocean with the Gulf of Mexico. During low sea level, the Hell Creek Delta covered western North Dakota and Fox Hills Sea shoreline habitats occurred in central North Dakota. Fine grained sediments, mostly silt and clay, deposited on the floor of these oceans are now rocks of the Carlile, Niobrara, and Pierre Formations. These are the oldest rocks exposed in North Dakota. Entombed in these rocks are fossils of the animals and plants that inhabited the seas. Remains of marine reptiles, including the mosasaur Plioplatecarpus, plesiosaurs, and the sea turtle, Archelon; fish (such as sharks, rays, and ratfish); birds; and invertebrates (including clams, cephalopods, snails, corals, and crabs) have been recovered from these rocks."

FortWayne says

ok, well at least that's a politically plausible claim.

much better than "i hate obama and everyone left of center, therefore global warming must be false"

ah shit, even a moment of research shows putin himself did NOT say that:

The president believes that "there is no global warming, that this is a fraud to restrain the industrial development of several countries including Russia," says Stanislav Belkovsky, a political analyst and critic of Putin. "

http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/10/29/us-climatechange-summit-russia-media-idUSKCN0SN1GI20151029

anyway, russia is the biggest winner from global warming, so that no doubt influences putin's position.

18   Patrick   2015 Nov 1, 6:31pm

come to think of it, global warming is the best thing that ever happened to russia. longer growing seasons, more habitable land, and that over a really vast territory. what's not to like? bangladesh gets submerged? meh.

19   FortWayne   2015 Nov 2, 9:12am

You see Patrick, I don't think it actually believe Global Warming exists. My reasons are following.

- it's politically divided. Democrats all in, Republicans all out. If it was a problem that threatened human existence both sides would be going with it.
- Obama gave out billion dollar contracts and tax benefits to companies that make Electric cars (Tesla). He even gave that same company a huge NASA contract. It's all a buddy / buddy deal there, defended under the claim of global warming.
- Global temperatures have always been cyclical, up for a while, than down for a while. Even in the 50's they had a cycle. I don't see any difference today.

In other words Forest Gump says "science shmience, I believe whatever I want too, weeeeeeeee."

How stupid does a person have to be to think that the motive of Obama, to hand out contracts to his friends, is greater than the motives of fossil fuel industries to postpone the shift to clean forms of energy.

Natural gas is a clean form of energy.

P N Dr Lo R says

Natural gas is a clean form of energy.

Not really. Cleaner than coal yes, but not clean. SOmething like half the C02 as coal. Also, on the one hand, gas burning power plants being built instead of coal plants is great, but nat gas plants being built in place of modern nuclear plants, maybe not so great.

Then there's the whole matter of fracking. Which sometimes fucks up precious deep water supplies.
