Not to burst the bubble of all the gleeful right wingers, but...

In an electorate that overwhelmingly favored Republicans, Democrats said they managed to boost the number of ballots cast over 2010 in key states like New Hampshire, North Carolina and Colorado. And there is little evidence that the GOP made major inroads among women, minorities and young voters, who will be key to winning the White House in 2016.

So those of us hoping the republicans win in 2016, so that they can own the mess they've created, shouldn't get too optimistic.

People just want you to feed them beans before you fuck them up the ass, it really is simple as that. We all don't want to be Real Estate moguls, most of us, just want a job that we can earn the bacon and have our family revel in our return. You know disgusting family stuff.

Hopefully, it will be Clinton and a Republican congress. It worked well last time.

If voter turn out for 2014 was anything for the GOP it was a cakewalk.

It would appear to me based on all of the Polls before the election that said the Dems had most of the races that they lost. That their own consituency has mastered their own art of giving lip service back to the Democrat Liberal politicians.

Democrat:
"So are you going to vote for me Tuesday!"
Crowd:
"You bet your Ass we will! Ima be voting, just as soon as you git me my damn rent you promised in 2008!"

I concur, but for different reasons.

1. Congress will achieve nothing in the next two years. Republicans won't pass any legislation that improves the country because they want Obama, and by proxy the Democrats, to look bad for the 2016 election.

2. However, it will be Republicans who look bad because they are the majority in both houses and the people will remember the deliberate sabotage the Republicans inflicted on our economy to make Obama look bad in 2012 as well as their blocking of all legislation while the Democrats had a simple majority.

3. Democrats won't vote for any Republican measures and the Republicans don't have a large enough majority to override any vetos the president uses, and Obama will veto any significant Republican legislation.

4. The few Democrats who would have voted with Republicans are exactly the ones who lost their jobs this election. This will teach the remaining Democrats that to keep their jobs they need to clearly distinguish themselves from Republicans.

5. Political polarization has gripped Washington so firmly that each party cannot and will not cooperate with the other even if it wants to. Yes, this was spearheaded by Republicans, but now it's too late for either side to cooperate. We are now in a winner take all scenario in which only one of the two parties can remain in power. Despite having a very vocal minority, the Republicans won't be the victors precisely because they appeal only to an ever-diminishing minority: the rich, the bigots, and the religious, all of which are becoming fewer with time.

6. The 2016 election will not be about Obama, no matter how much the Republicans try -- and they will -- to make it about him. It will be about Hilary and the Republican obstructionism. The people will be pissed off once again, but being a president election, more Democratic voters will vote. Hilary will most likely win, assuming she runs and that's probable. The swing states will replace Republicans with Democrats in both chambers.

Every decision in politics comes down to getting elected and focusing on the next election cycle. The only goal is to obtain and keep as many seats as possible by any means necessary. That is the one and only objective. There are no goals or convictions besides this fact.
