The cops tried for 13 minutes to get him to get out of the car. Is it that difficult? Just get out of the damn car you jerk. Was he hiding something? hhmmmmm.

Law requires you to ID yourself by:

stating name, address, date of birth
-OR-
presenting an ID card

Don't see where the probable cause is to escalate this beyond handing them a ticket, except one cop just got pissed off they didn't recognize the BARS on his shoulder.

Great work there Officer Friendly!

He should have yelled, "DON'T TASE ME BRO!" at the top of his lungs. I hear that works.

Unless it's an Indiana law stating otherwise, cops can direct you to leave your vehicle for basically any reason. The 4th Amendment does not "protect" either driver or passenger in this regard while on public roads.

From what I understand, the driver took offense to being lit up by the cop car and started driving a little crazy on her way to the shoulder. So much so, they put spike strips in front of her car before they even approached it. The passenger apparently started reaching into his backpack for an old ticket, because he didn't have identification, without letting the police know what was going on, raising suspicion.

The cops overreacted by busting out the window and shooting a taser into the car with children. I mean they waited 20 minutes for the guy to open the door, they weren't going to wait all day for him to do it but I'm sure there was a better way to breach a vehicle with kids in it.

Dumb cops mixed with dumb people usually make for a bad end result.
