I think 50% of boomers will never retire at all.

They won't have it that easy.

Thank goodness, the boomers robbed enough Mill X Y'ers and left them shivering bereft in gutters with nothing but tats to keep them warm, pawning their piercings and hookahs, that the boomers don't NEED Social Security.

But, being greedy fucks, they'll collect it anyway, and MORE, to support their mendacious leisure time activities and burgeoning requirements for artificial limbs.

The Mill X Yer's thought that Facebook was a social media site!

It's FACEBOOK THE MENU AND ORGAN HARVESTING CATALOGUE.

Baby boomers have already picked their favorite organ doners through the NSA and established organ harvesting farms.

When the Mill X Y er's can't pay for the boomers' Social Security and outlandish perks, they will be forced to donate organs.

A lot of boomers won't stop working completely. I know someone collecting about $725 a month since age 62. She is 65 now and works 24 hours per week as a front desk hotel clerk. She owns a home with no mortgage and has a car that is paid for. She has a small amount of savings.

I bet the IRS can provide a report of those collecting social security and are working at least 20 hours per week. I would say at least 50% of the boomers are in this category.

No, won't happen in the boomers lifetime, it will happen in the millenials where you means test the poor little darlings and take the little wealth they have for the poor who don't have anything.

Yes, you are absolutely right about this. Social Security should be means tested so those who don't need it will have their payments redirected to those who do.

I agree a means test needs to be implemented. Even Republicans are calling for a means test for social security. I think medicare should remain untouched except those making more than $100,000 per year in retirement should pay a medicare fee.

So, you want to means test social security at age 65, and since Person A has assets/money in the bank, he's not eligible for S.S. benefits, even though he paid in for 45 years.

All the proposals for a means test would be on income in retirement not assets. The number being thrown around is starting a reduction in SS at an income of 50k and eliminating entirely at 100k. If your fictional person is going to be earning more than 50k a year on his 225k in savings, then he would have to worry about a reduction in benefits. Nice try at clouding the issue.
