The inventory of homes for sale in the Bay Area appears to have officially bottomed. This October, and for the first time, Bay Area housing inventory is finally higher than it was in October 2013.

Is this just a seasonal blip? Or the start of a new trend? If inventory does begin to rise back up the same way it has fallen in the last two years, you can see pretty clearly how home prices could backtrack.

Inventory is up about 25% in my burg. I've got a hard time believing we'll see lower inventory (how low can you go?) than this past year. Perhaps this is where we begin the sideways slide to oblivion.
