But if it can't be tracked or shut off remotely it might be worth it. Besides, good luck mileage taxing MT vehicles: pulling a speed sensor connector stops odometer from rolling, mwahahahahahaha!

New cars have that remote shut off already built in. All of them.

Or you can just put a dummy load to replace antenna. Little tech secret, most people won’t do that

Not that easy. Car would be set to shut down if no reply from signal. Just but a pre 2026 car.

We are talking about consumers. Is there an app or "jailbreak" that can turn off mobile phone tracking? Can the average Joe hack his phone so he can get free service? Anyone have a card that can get free money from an ATM like that kid in Terminator?

To be fair, Budweiser is shit beer.

I took a tour of that brewery in Fairfield once and was shocked that there were broken bottles and beer on the floor among the machines. No one was cleaning it up, just seemed normal.

The line shift guys don't do the cleanup. When I worked for the canneries in San Jose as a yute, they had spilled spinach and fruit cocktail all over the place. The line workers just kept on working because shit was spilling all the time, and the cleanup guys were a different group/shift.

It’s not, I lived there long enough. You can’t have a big city be conservative, different life. People in SD think they are conservative, their standards are very low for that measure.

Its incredible how CA taxes athletes and gets away with it!!

"We project that Darnold will pay about $249,000 in taxes to California if the Seahawks defeat the Patriots.

No one is going to remember Super Bowl 2026 for its tax implications, but it highlights how California and other states with jock taxes aggressively tax athletes who enter their borders—even for only a few days in town."

The link below outlines the various laws that CA Dems have voted and approved regarding confidentiality and consent for minors over the years.

For example a 12-year old may legally obtain an abortion in CA WITHOUT parental consent or knowledge, which has been on the books since 1997!

https://static1.squarespace.com/static/66421681d90ded764d1347e8/t/66a9467522a93e5eb03a0380/1722369655524/2023CaMinorConsentConfChartFull.pdf

Many CA parents are completely unaware of the limited control / power they have over their child due to the laws that have been passed by CA Democrats over the past 25+ years!

The chart above does NOT cover CA laws regarding a minor child wanting to change their identity. Another area where parents have no rights and a child can be removed from their home for not allowing "gender-care".

The chickens have come home to roost— except in California, where even the chickens are moving to Florida. Yesterday, the UK Telegraph reported, “Zuckerberg joins California exodus in move to Florida’s ‘billionaire bunker.’” Cute headline.

Mark Zuckerberg just did the most relatable thing of his entire career: he moved to Florida to dodge taxes. Welcome to the club, Zuck. Somebody get him a fishing license and some mosquito repellent.

Mark Zuckerberg is buying a $150-200M mansion on Indian Creek Island (aka “Billionaire Bunker”) in Miami, fleeing California ahead of a proposed 5% wealth tax on billionaires. The tax would apply retroactively to anyone who was a California resident as of January 1st, 2026. Zuck joins Larry Page, Sergey Brin, Larry Ellison, Peter Thiel, and David Sacks in the exodus. Tech investor Chamath Palihapitiya and All-In podcaster reckoned that California’s taxable billionaire wealth has dropped from $2T to under $1T in weeks. ...

Even assuming Zuckerberg paid top dollar for the house, $200 million, that is a tiny fraction of the $11+ billion he’d have been taxed if California’s ballot resolution passes. (He bought it from the founder of the Jersey Mike’s sub franchise. Only in America does a sandwich mogul’s mansion become a tech titan’s tax shelter.)

California managed to lose a trillion dollars of taxable wealth in three months just by threatening to tax it. “Socialism sucks,” Senator Ted Cruz observed after hearing the news. “The problem with socialism,” Margaret Thatcher once said, “is that, sooner or later, you run out of other people’s money.”

Zuckerberg spent years helping California Democrats get elected. Now those Democrats want 5% of his net worth. You hate to see it. Actually —and I cannot stress this enough— you absolutely love to see it.

He has not dodged anything as long as he still has properties in CA (which he does) and Fuckbook is still HQed there. Long story short: he has the work of proving that he's not a CA resident for tax purposes cut out for him.

Shit, at the current tax rate and an 18.5 mpg average vehicle, I pay 3.29 cents per mile already. This is going to be a “you still drive an ICE vehicle so you must be PUNISHED fee….….

As far as money for roads go, this is a typical scam by the government: spend the existing fuel tax money on pet projects nobody wants and then ask the tax donkeys for even more money to fill the deficit the government created by misusing existing funds.

Also, California wants to put a GPS tracker in every vehicle on the roads. Then they will ratchet up the mileage charges with congestion pricing for driving at certain times and locations.

An excuse is that the electric vehicles aren't paying the gas tax. True enough! But for the last 20+ years, California has been giving special privileges (and huge cash on the hood) for various special vehicle types. Why not just stop that and call the no-gas-tax enough of a special benefit to promote fuel efficiency? The federal rebates ended (thank you Trump) and the CA ones expired too. Not to worry: Newsom is pushing for a new set of cash enticements.

https://nypost.com/2026/02/09/us-news/california-electricity-bills-spiked-39-over-six-years/#Echobox=1770684087

Californians have seen their energy bills spike by 39% over the past six years — the most by far of any state, according to UC Berkeley’s Haas Energy Institute — thanks in part to the destructive wildfires that have torn through Los Angeles and other areas in recent years and policy choices that have shoved costs onto rate payers. ...

California residents already face the highest cost of living in the country — families in the state pay $30,000 more for basics like food, gas, water and childcare compared to the national average, according to the Transparency Foundation.

The massive increase in energy rates is due to a combination of factors: wildfire management costs, capital expenses, a costly push for renewables — largely shouldered by rate payers.

Distribution costs are up because utilities are allowed the pass on the costs of responding to wildfires to consumers, researchers say.

Severin Borenstein, a UC Berkeley professor who studies energy rates, also pointed to subsidies for rooftop solar programs that have shifted costs onto other customers.

By contrast, electricity rates in much of the country kept pace with inflation between 2019 and 2025— or even declined slightly.

The lowest rate increases were in Arizona, Minnesota, Missouri, Tennessee, Mississippi and North Carolina — all at just 1%, according to UC Berkeley research.

Rates actually dropped in states including Nevada, which saw a 12% electricity decrease, and Iowa, where rates dropped 8%. Rates in Alaska, Kansas and South Carolina dropped 6% each, per the study.
377   Blue   @   2026 Feb 14, 1:20pm

https://blog.citadelrs.com/timeline-of-rate-increases-and-how-to-reduce-your-bill

inflation to blame? Not exclusively. If PG&E had simply kept up with inflation, the rate would have less than doubled—instead, the $0.11 rate would be $0.20 in 2023.

And the recent upward trend is especially disturbing. The average residential rate paid (including all plans) has increased by over 49% since 2020.

How to Reduce Your PG&E Electricity Bill

Use natural light and ventilation: Make use of natural light during the day and try opening your blinds and/or windows to reduce the need for artificial lighting and air conditioning. 😜

I'm pretty sure that https://www.calwater.com/ does NOT measure your water usage, since our meter is buried. Maybe they installed a wireless water meter long ago, but I doubt it. I think they just make up a random number around $100 each month.

Maybe PGE does similar things.

The last time I had Cal Water service was around 9 years ago. I’m a data guy so I consistently checked the in-ground meter dials to the numbers they put on the bills. They were really consistent, typically within 1CCF of when I checked them.
