We Can't Live on Renewable Energy Alone

Or at least Britain can't live on renewables alone:

"Renewable facilities have to be country-sized because all renewables
are so diffuse."

"To sustain Britain’s lifestyle on its renewables alone would be very
difficult. A renewable-based energy solution will necessarily be large
and intrusive."

Of course. It is going to be mostly fossil fuel and nuclear.

The main problem with renewables: the energy is too "diffuse." Use of renewables means a *huge* amount of area dedicated to energy collection. Remember, rich liberals on Cape Cod couldn't stand the thought of a few offshore wind turbines "spoiling" their view.

We need concentrated, high-density energy. Like we get from fossil sources, nuclear, and hydro*.

*most good hydroelectric sites worldwide are already dammed
