I see a few members here make frequent mention of the "cool & hip" DINK'ers that are keeping things expensive in the Bay Area. I have a picture in my mind of who these folks are (god help me if I am one, I am a DINK), but I am curious to see what others' descriptions of this group are. Some people refer them to them as "hipsters", and that evokes images of guys in black scarves & tight pants sitting in non-Starbucks coffee houses with brand new MacBooks doing "graphic design" and "writing" in plainly obvious ways so that people know that they are "graphic designers" and "writers." They don't really HAVE jobs, but their parents up the peninsula have trust finds for them, and they will end up getting houses in nice areas one way or another.

How else do people classify the "cool & hip" crowd? Working internet start-ups, living life 10 megabytes at a time through the latest smartphone at all times & in all places?
