This is very interesting. Maybe there is a quid pro quo for an IMF (read: US led) bailout here.
Sanctions? Hell so long as someone is buying there oil, sanctions are of limited value. If they are serious about hurting Iran, prevent the world market from buying there exported Oil. Without this critical income the Iranians will be humbled in short order. 55% of the countries income comes for Oil and Natural Gas. Cut off this source of income and it will not take more than 6 months before the Iran's are more reasonable.
