Nobody said climate science was easy!
Yes there will be outliers. There always have been and always will be. The war of 1812 was in part won by one such freakish event.

Hard to blame human activity for that one.
God however is a different story.
Goody. I'm really relieved now. That means its all good to pollute like mad cuz' its all perfectly fine.
CaptainShuddup, are you claiming that we should not stop people from polluting at all? Should we let coal companies spew as much CO2 in the air as they want? Are you saying that it doesn't matter at all?
Are you willing to put your own money where your mouth is? Are you willing to have all your wealth confiscated to pay for relocating people who's islands have been washed away by rising sea levels? Are you will to pay for the lose of real estate of anyone in Florida who loses their property to rising sea levels?
Talk is cheap. No climate change denier is willing to pay for the insurance in case they are wrong. No drill-baby-drill advocate is willing to foot the bill when a major oil leak occurs.
Fuck the morality of climate change. Just think about all the money it's going to cost. After all, that's all that's important and it's more than enough to outlaw pollution. The tiny economic gains of pollution pale in comparison to the costs of terraforming the Earth back to its prior status. If money is all that matters, you should still have zero tolerance for pollution.
The problem is that CO2 is a relatively harmless "pollutant" compared to all the other pollutants out there which escape relatively unscathed due to the utter fixation on CO2.
Yah CO2 is pretty tame stuff. Chemically it's much safer than dangerous elements like oxygen. It's inert, non reactive, and just sort of hangs around until some biological process does something to it.
CO is not good stuff. Though much less reactive than oxygen, it takes much less of it to suffocate a person.
Ozone is actually a big way of measuring pollution in cities. It's reactive and is the reason why your wiper blades wear out much more swiftly in cities with pollution than in the country.
Particulates are the most harmful. Fuel that is incompletely combusted has benzene (highly carcinogenic) as just one of a nasty cocktail of compounds in the smoke from that hippy's old Mercedes put-putting along ahead of you.
The problem I have with CO2 is rising sea levels. I don't want the house I eventually buy to go literally underwater. You can bet your ass that no insurance company will pay out for rising sea levels as they will insert conditions into their contracts to prevent that as it becomes more probable. And you can bet your ass that no climate change denier will compensate victims after he's proved wrong and the policies he got passed have done their damage.

I think he's COUNTING on it! As the sea levels slowly rise his home will soon become beachfront property! He'll sell and buy something a bit more inland so his daughters can do the same trick a decade later or so.
It's not exactly get rich quick but at least he's assured of property appreciation.

on one hand you say it Global Warming with melting ice and less water .. on the other more water/flooding... you need to get your sh*t together.. which one is it...
in the mean time.. somewhere in India.. Cows continue to kill humans more than cars kill humans !
Cows with Gas: India's Global-Warming Problem
By Madhur Singh / New Delhi Saturday, Apr. 11, 2009
Indolent cows languidly chewing their cud while befuddled motorists honk and maneuver their vehicles around them is an image as stereotypically Indian as saffron-clad holy men and the Taj Mahal. Now, however, India's ubiquitous cows — of which there are 283 million, more than anywhere else in the world — are assuming a more menacing role as they become part of the climate-change debate.
By burping, belching and excreting copious amounts of methane — a greenhouse gas that traps 20 times more heat than carbon dioxide — India's livestock of roughly 485 million (including sheep and goats) contributes more to global warming than the vehicles the animals obstruct.

it would be good time to give notice to New Orleans residence to evac to higher grounds.

Whoa boy where did I say that?
Cars have never been cleaner, the consumers footprint has never been smaller, but the smaller quantity of waste, has never been more toxic. Toxic to create and toxic to dispose.
I'm more concerned about the effects of deforestation, and Ocean's ecosystem collapsing, from man made pollution and over exploitation, than I am from from the long extrapolated theory that the trans Atlantic conveyor belt, will cause the that collapse. Even though science argues that's exactly what happens in a round about way. The toxicity to manufacture your iPhone, and your green reusable bags are greater threat to that eventuality than cars. Which they emit less and less as each year goes by. I saw the effects of that first hand. When I moved here to south Florida in '85, Miami from i95 was a dingy dirty brownish grey haze. Today the skyline is clear all the way to the bay.
The Green marketing and politicizing of science to push agendas, only serves to diminish the importance of preserving the environment, an real immediate threats we face today, by placing the narrative on a neat little $45,000 package. "You to can save the world by driving a fucking Easter egg, with a camera in the rear. "
Alternate energy my ass, what about alternate forests, and alternate coral reefs, alternate Oxygen, alternate clean water?
Captain I think you are confusing your emissions. The smog is caused by NOx compounds which are indeed lessened by emissions controls, real time tuning, etc. CO2 however is the end product of combustion - there is no way around it in a hydrocarbon consuming vehicle.
The best way to reduce CO2 is reduce fuel consumption or go electric assuming the electric power does not itself consume hydrocarbons. Solar and/or wind would be great if it was cheaper and more reliable. Nuclear would work if Americans would pull their collective heads out of their asses. Hydroelectric if we had more damned rivers, you get the idea.
No, I think what the captain is saying is that CO2 is small potatoes compared to more toxic wastes that our society is producing. That the threat of "climate change" is less than the threat of killing our oceans. We all want to breathe clean air and drink clean water. The climate change agenda has always ever even about money and power, not saving the Earth.
Nature's way of deceiving you...
It's nature's way of telling you...
Something's wrong.

Turns out it wasn't global warming at all.
What good is undisputed science, if it's constantly contradicting its self?
