I have already advocated this in another thread.

Article commentary is good too:

I have a specific case. My doctor won't give me my blood pressure medicine unless I visit her every three months. This is a new rule she instituted last Spring. (I guess with the economy business is bad.) Her office visit is $150. I'm unemployed and have no health insurance. So, I ran out of my hydrochlorothiazide which is only $4/month at Wal Mart. I do own a blood pressure cuff and check my blood pressure. When on the medicine it is normal. (103 over 71 give or take) But, without the medicine it is high. So now I just hope I don't have a stroke.

This case illustrates the larger principle that adults should not be required to buy permission before buying medication. ObamneyCare will tax devices including home blood pressure monitors in order to subsidize insurance and doctor visits. In Mexico, people can simply go to the pharmacy and buy what they need without having to bribe a state licensee for permission first. They live about as long as Americans, while spending 90% less on medical care. The prescription requirement serves the lobbyists and the industry they represent, at the expense of everyone else.

If the homeowner isn't insulted by your offer...you didn't bid low enough!!!

I am so sorry you and many others have to go through this. You can't slip up on blood pressure meds. We live in the world's greatest country with the worst health care system.
A few suggestions....
Change doctors.
Get it from an online pharmacy.
Get it from Mexico if possible.

Change doctors

Easier said than done. You'll still waste a lot of time and money finding one. The last good doctor that I found retired.

traditional chinese medicine treats high blood pressure without drugs. change medical approach to traditional chinese medicine. costs much less and usually the herbs are included in the price of the visit. ( they gradually wean off western drugs while introducing herbal regime).

You know they do sell this stuff at WalMart over in the same part of the store where they sell medicines.
