If you do move DO NOT fuck up the culture in a rural area. Embrace it. You will meet some dicks and druggies, but it's fucking tame compared to Chicago. My kids run around in the summer and get a sandlot type crew together and play baseball. There is zero community in cities. Some suburban places pull it off, but it's usually more expensive than the city or rural.

I know most of you are CA residents, so I don't actually really know your rural situation. It can't be worse than SF or LA.
