How so? How has the United States protected the Sikhs? I am entirely ignorant about this.

The Sikh religion is hundreds of years old - at least 300 years old. It's difficult to believe that the United States has prevented the destruction of the religion simply because I cannot see any advantage for the United States to prevent it. I don't think the US did this, I think the Sikhs did this.

Don't be careless in giving my government too much credit. Credit should be given when it's due, but I think you're incorrect in this case. I know my government, if they saved your group, there was an ulterior motive. My government has never acted in pure benevolence. They have (falsely) claimed this many times, but to my knowledge, they never have, in all of our nation's history.
