There's been talk about sodium batteries, but there's not been much success with them. IF they can be made though, we have TONS of sodium, don't we?

But I wonder what will be done with the chlorine gas?

This won't be as fun or aristocratic as using batteries requiring slave labor in polluted third world countries. They need a better fashion handle.

Has CLAIMED he's solved the problem with sodium ion, and he was responsible for lithium ion. The guy is a freaking genius, but he's 100 years old, and some people think he's lost his mind. Time will tell. If sodium ion can be done, and have equal charge density in terms of weight of lithium, it will be another revolution. Even 1/2 the charge density would be a breakthrough.
