If this is supposed to be some sort of veiled accusation, you can kiss my ass, Bigsby. I was barely aware of Roberto's existence; I just remember he was that guy who got in fights all the time and bragged about his Arizona investments. I didn't even know egads was the same person until someone pointed it out here. You can see in this thread where I came to the realization that it was Roberto, and my surprise that all the time he had been talking about real estate in Arizona rather than California like the rest of us. I don't threaten people in real life, not only because it is a crime, but because it is wrong. I didn't do it here, even though you classy gentlemen were calling me a "pussy" and trying to egg me on. Roberto didn't like it when it happened to him, but he doesn't seem to mind doing it to others. If you are accusing me of something, you ought to think long and hard about that, because you too are in danger of crossing a line.
You seem to suffer from the same emotional fragility as Roberto, although thankfully not to the same degree. If you are considering falsely accusing someone of a crime to get revenge because your feelings were hurt on an internet forum, you might need to step away from the computer.

So, yes, you're probably right, I could and should find another forum less populated by racists and conspiracists. Perhaps I'm just used to the familiar. I'll have a look round or better still find something more constructive to do with my time.

I don't think there's ever a need to degenerate a debate into personal insults whether it's politics or real estate. Arguments can be done in good faith whether they are based on opinions or documented evidence.

Perhaps this was discussed somewhere else, but how do we know that someone made a threatening phone call to Roberto? I know he said someone did, but do we know this actually happened? Are the police involved? Have they been able to check the phone records?

Clearly, the person making the phone call has a few screws loose.
But if I'm understanding everything correctly, Roberto's employer received a threatening phone call directed at Roberto. Roberto then proceeded to have his screen name and all posts under that screen name erased by Patrick. Roberto then comes back as Egads, admitting he is, in fact, Roberto.
I'm with him right up to the point that he comes back as Egads and admits he's Roberto. I'm assuming the reason he had his original screen name and posts removed from the site is because he felt threatened by a lunatic and didn't want to take chances learning what the lunatic might be capable of. I would have done the same thing in his situation.
Where he loses me is why he would come back as Egads and openly continue the Roberto cause. Either he felt threatened by the lunatic or he didn't. If he felt threatened (threatened enough to want to erase his old identity) why on Earth would he advertise that Egads and Roberto are one and the same?

I am given to understand that it was HE that was portrayed as the threat, armed and crazy, etc.
To his employer, by some rodent from this site.
I would guess he came back because he THRIVES on the fray.
He never acknowledged the Roberto/egads link but he has a persona that is hard to disguise.

And I suspect that this particular threat wouldn't hold much water in a court of law: "conditional threats are true threats if their context reasonably conveys to the victim that they are intended." Doesn't seem too likely when directed at an anonymous internet troll...

I don't think he was that worried about the phone call. I think he was just switching screen names to be a more effective troll. Didn't he switch it from "Oracle" to "Egads" while keeping the same avatar? If he were worried about people finding out who he was, I don't think he'd keep the same avatar.

Actually, I still read the site and will no doubt continue to do so from time to time, but I had till now decided not to post again and stopped doing so at the weekend. For this, though, I will make an exception till Patrick removes my account as requested. I didn't post that message (at least not intentionally) - it is exactly the same (though reversed for some reason) as a previous post, 203, and is not something I would want or have any need to repost. It is, I presume, a glitchy delayed posting of an edited comment. And I'd be happy to remove the post but didn't want to do so without comment.
And I'm not particularly angry, though you do irritate the hell out of me. You, however, are most certainly projecting as any cursory read through of your posts demonstrates.
And just out of curiousity, why is one of your 31 threads dedicated to attacking a fellow forum member who was, according to you, 'not on my radar much till this thread?'

Hmmm.. I guess you're right. I remember that now. Roberto totally flipped out and spent all day resurrecting dead threads from the same guy and writing a whole bunch of posts in a row. I obviously have a bad memory. I take that back about him not being on my radar.
I think he still has two more screen names here on Patnet, I wonder if he will recreate himself again on one of them??

Please ANYONE reading this from some random link or search engine, do NOT believe the BS, unless you want to lose a LOT of money. Apparently there is no more "egads", which is a fucking shame because he at least gave a counterpoint to the poor fools on here who lost thousands or even millions. There are many sad individuals who didn't buy and who are very bitter about it. Misery loves company and they want YOU to be miserable as well.

In late 2010, I think 4 of my coworkers were laughing at me because I said housing will double-dip. They all thought prices would stay flat or drop only a couple of percentages. Well, it's June 2011 and prices already fell 5.5% from Jan to Mar 2011. They look at that and now say that it won't fall anymore even though sales numbers are double-digits in the red.
The sheeple are so brainwashed it's mind boggling! I think it's hopeless guys. America will never wake up to reality until the ESPN is shut down or until the economy totally collapses!!
