In the Moscow metro, on June 12, the police detained people who had previously participated in actions against the war in Ukraine, writes OVD-Info .

It follows from the reports that more than 15 people were detained, some of whom told OVD-Info that they had taken part in anti-war actions in the past.

Some of them mentioned that the police used an orientation called "Day of Russia" and identified people using a facial recognition system. The reports do not mention any actions of the detainees that could attract the attention of the police.

“So the security forces are preparing for protest actions that may take place in connection with the Day of Russia,” they say in OVD-Info.

Science journalist Asya Kazantseva was among those detained in the subway. As Mediazona writes , she was required to write an explanatory note saying that she “had a preventive conversation that people who had administrative detentions in the past should not enter the metro on Russia Day.”

Update. At 20:41, OVD-Info reported that at least 35 people had been detained using a facial recognition system.
