I hope all Patnetters, if they witnessed something like this, would stick around and be a witness for the hero of this story. I realize this woman is a police office(?) but many people conceal carry. It sure would be nice to think that if I or anyone else ever had to shoot someone that a god fearing witness would stick around and testify for the hero.

Watching this video it dawned on me that a woman can have a real advantage maintaining surprise. She looks like she is just fishing around in her handbag for a wallet or something (which is what the thief wants) and BINGO a gun comes out. As opposed to a man reaching around his waist to his back which would very likely be seen as going for a gun.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. —

A man died after he was struck by a vehicle while police believe he was attempting to steal a catalytic converter in Sacramento, authorities said Tuesday.

Officers responded to the 8100 block of Timberlake Drive just before 4:45 a.m. Monday for reports of a collision involving a pedestrian, Sacramento police said.

The pedestrian had serious injuries from the crash and he was later pronounced dead at the hospital, police said.

Investigators said they think the man was tampering with the vehicle and trying to steal a catalytic converter before the crash.

Police said the driver of the vehicle was contacted at the scene, and the investigation remains active.

NAPERVILLE, Ill. — On Tuesday, Naperville police released body cam footage depicting a deadly shooting of a hatchet-wielding man.

According to police, on June 3 an officer was conducting a traffic stop around 11 a.m. near Bond Street and McDowell Road in Naperville. Around 10 minutes later, police said a second vehicle pulled up and a man, later identified as Edward Samaan, 28, holding a hatchet got out of the car.

After Samaan jumps out of the vehicle six shots are audible on body camera video.
