Trump has investors in his own company. It's his fiduciary duty to promote it.

Twitter has always been a BS company.

I agree with most of your takes Rich, but this is patently false. I need/have to tow stuff. That's not happening with a 500lbs car.

Well, you're an exception.

I don't have a problem with that, I'm pointing out that the VAST majority of vehicles are extremely wasteful.

WookieMan says
I also give no shits about the environment. There's no obvious change I've observed in my 39 years of life.

I think you want to rephrase that. I think you mean you DO give a shit about the environment, but you don't believe the propaganda about it - neither do I. Plastic in the woods doesn't sit there for 1000 years. An oil slick in a lake doesn't stay there forever. We're not causing a global climate catastrophe. I agree.

WookieMan says
500 lbs cars though are not going to be a thing. I'll buy a horse before that.

It's inevitable. It won't be any worse or more dangerous than a vehicle of today. It just doesn't make sense to drive around a 3,000 lb car to get to and from work. You're not going to be hauling sod around with it, but most people don't have to ever do that.

Not true.

Tesla been turning major profits WITHOUT credits for over a year now and their Orders and Sales numbers are on an exponential growth curve trajectory now with the new factories coming on line. Every car manufacturer was given the same EV subsidies that Tesla got.

I looked at their most recent earnings statement with the SEC, looks like I was wrong. Still...

Easily done given their from the same club, and share so many similarities.

I bought a few more Tesla shares this week. I plan on hanging on to them for at least 10+ years.

I expect over 50% of the traditional auto OEM's will be out of business within 10 years or will have license deals with Tesla to supply them with their batteries, software and motors.

The problem is the real money in Tesla has already been made. pre split adjusted when it was about $30 share. Although buying in October 2013 and selling in may 2019 would have net you zero profit. It shows how unlucky or lucky you can be in the market. When they were actually able to mass produce model 3s at a significant level people realized this stock was a viable company.

It also helps to not really update your cars style often… and sell it with pretty bare with a giant touchscreen. Allows margins to be pretty good and easy to mass produce.

I’m personally getting bored of seeing white Tesla model 3s. They are everywhere in CA. For Tesla to be successful the roads will be a sea of white bubbles.

I think Tesla's are ugly. They can't find a design that inspires more emotional satisfaction?

Stupidity and gullible are rewarded.

Why do people still use Twitter? They KNOW it's promoting propaganda, they KNOW it's filled with bots, they KNOW that there's political censorship.

But people still use it. They BEG them to stop the censorship. There's alternatives, but they won't seek them out.

Midwits are in control.

I miss the 1990's. Such a company would have been abandoned and burned to the ground in a few months.

One good thing about the underground, is less midwits. There's a few here, but it's not as agonizing as major sites.

esla can build their cars in under 10 hours using their new gigapress technology while Volkswagen takes 30+ hours.

Interesting. In 1914 it only took 93 minutes to assemble a new Model T.

He's clearly doing something right. No one gets to be the richest guy in the world by accident.

Royalty? Ppl born with the last names like Westinghouse, Ford, Disney, Rockefeller, Vanderbilt and nowadays Gates?

None of the decedents of those guys were the "Richest Man in The World." Moot anyway, since Musk did not inherit his wealth.

Hmm... maybe the early 1990s, but the late-90s was prime time for useless companies and hopeless business ideas. Remember Pets.com with the multi-million-dollar Super Bowl ad featuring sock puppets advertising dog food for sale delivered to your door for less than the cost of the dog food (not to mention free shipping)? Who knows how long that would have continued if not for the 2000/2001 bubble bursting.
38   SunnyvaleCA   2022 May 14, 5:14pm

Just remember, when the woke mob comes for you, give your wholehearted support for Elon Musk, the richest person in the world and an African-American immigrant.
39   AmericanKulak   2022 May 14, 5:30pm

Pets.com was ahead of it's time. Look at Doordash and Uber Eats that takes crap you could pick up in 15 minutes or make yourself for a helluva lot more.

I stopped going to Franchises because they put the lazy sods who order on their smartphone ahead of customers waiting in the actual lobby.
40   Patrick   2022 May 14, 5:46pm

I also find that annoying.

Also, when there are customers waiting, the clerks should not be answering the phone ahead of people waiting right in front of them.

Trump is said to have talked Elon into buying Twitter. Your comment makes sense now. Trump could have contemplated buying it, but knew it would have brought the full might of the weaponized DOJ and Courts on his head. So he could have talked to other billionaires to buy it, to put the TDS hate machine in a mental trap, trying to justify stopping Elon Musk from buying it. "Not every can be Hitler" as it were. In the end they couldn't justify why they would object to Elon buying it, but not Jeff Bezos.

43   NuttBoxer   2022 May 14, 7:12pm

The thing with Tesla is the same thing with Musk. It all sounds good and looks flashy, but when you get down to it, all you've got is a bunch of hype. Electric vehicles, not just Tesla's, but all of them, are impractical, inefficient, and wreck the environment. On top of that, Tesla's spy on you with Gates/Google like precision, and allow the company, or the government to shut your car down whenever they feel like it. It's a model with no future.

Musk talk's freedom, but supports the NWO. He "sounds" good like Bernie Sanders sounds good. But his reality is neural nets, one world government, carbon tax's, and fucking everyone in the ass.

Sure, every poor kids dad owns an emerald mine in Africa. He didn't inherit it the same way Gates and Zuckerberg didn't.

He might be strategizing. He knows the tech crash is upon us, and might feel he can use the "unexpected" number of bots to argue that his prior bid was too high.

Losing 1B to renegotiate is chump change compared to maybe saving 10-20% of 45B or w/e he bid.

heh, I might be right.

Being sarcastic, but there's a reason you don't see many Model T's on the road now.
