6.10 already in our area. Fucking $6.10 It is insane.

And news of course ignores it, it's just ok. they are too fucking busy worrying about some country fuck knows where in Europe near Russia. I'm fucking pissed. What affects me, gas prices. Hate the gas prices, hate the media. This country is ran by assholes.

Maybe instead of sending Ukraine billions they should send us gas vouchers, it's our fucking money!

Just ranting, really upset over this shit. It's lowering our budgets significantly because I'm not rich.

Hircus is correct, rising crude oil prices will slow down the economy so raising interest rates is now unnecessary.

This may have been the point of provoking Russia into invading Ukraine and then sanctions that are going to hurt the world more than Russia. The Fed can’t raise rates much without bankrupting our government. But if you just kill the economy and make everyone poorer, that will also kill inflation.

Putin needed no provocation.

On Feb 14 Germany clearly said that NATO membership for Ukraine was not under consideration.

EV owners don’t pay fuel road taxes at the pump, and as such, those vehicles that are full BEV should be excluded from any kind of fuel tax offsetting payout.

I'd agree. Cars generally are not the wear and tear on the road though. It's semi's which include fuel trucks. Weight is the biggest factor in road deterioration in a place like CA. IL it's the freeze/thaw cycle of winter combined with trucks. I don't like EV's for my personal use, but I see value in them, but also understand the need for ICE vehicles. It's a balancing act.

I don't know what the happy medium is. I'm biased because high oil prices and huge trucks make me more money. EV's are not the "green dream" most people believe. You'd need 60-80% of electric output to be solar, wind, hydro or nukes for that to be the case. No where near that. Lithium ain't cheap to extract and most certainly uses ICE construction equipment. Then factor in coal power plants and it's not what everyone thinks it is.

You can link propaganda articles about ICE vehicles, but they're not reducing emissions and likely putting more out. Maybe in 10-20 years it will be different. Right now your Tesla is emitting more than a Honda Civic 100%. Either way I don't care. I'm not convinced CO2 is doing anything. Given the power of the sun, a 1,000 mile shift in orbit (totally nothing) could shift temperatures. Given the distances that's a rounding error, but could raise temp 1ºF and has nothing to do with CO2. So we extract earth minerals for feel goods. Logical...

And yes, I get the driving and acceleration, it's fun. But people gotta stop thinking they're doing something good. They're not.

Poor, stupid Russia: got herself provoked into a quagmire for no good reason. Low IQ country indeed.

And after a month of war it's abundantly clear to everyone that Ukrainian military was nowere near being in position of successfully invading Russia with any meaningful results. They are barely holding their lines, for fuck's sake and attacking requires even more capabilities than defense.

It is also abundantly clear that NATO was not "itching for war with Russia" either because it's now peeing its collective panties at even possibility of handing over old MiGs.

The USA had far less reason to be “provoked” into a second war/quagmire with Iraq. Or even Afghanistan.

If you want gas vouchers - move to California: Newscum will be sending $400 per vehicle.

I know CA, they'll tax me $1000, then they'll give me $50 back to feel good about myself. Because they are faggots!

Which is exactly what they do with utilities charges. CO2 is bad surcharges on your electric and natural gas consumption come back to you at pennies on the dollar in the form of the California Climate Credit on your bill each April and October.

They say that money should be spent on energy efficiency upgrades to use less energy/fuel.

California has become New York.

Once upon a time, people went to get higher paying jobs in NYC with its vibrant economy.

Now everyone is leaving except the mega bucks rich who are often foreigners and entertainers..

California was great and better in every way than NYC.

But, now it’s becoming expensive and the more you try to make money to keep up, the more you are taxed.

You’re not going to win unless you’re in high tech or the government, including cops and firemen.

The teeming masses of foreigners and their spawn want your money or your job.

Buy a house, get trapped into a huge mortgage, your county government needs the property taxes.
42   JimSpatzenfeld   2022 Mar 25, 2:20pm

It might go as high as $10/gallon, so better don’t complain about 6 bucks. It helps to keep the poor guys off the freeway, I like it!

The reality of the energy density of the liquid fuels, what we get for what we pay, $6 or even $20 is an incredible bargain, compared to feeding-watering-taking care of horses.

My father, who was born in 1938 told me a story about his uncle he heard when he was a kid - his first ride in a car.

His uncle was driven from Harrisville NY to Star Lake. He got there in an hour. He never gone so fast in his life!

They are 20 miles apart.

I wonder how many talked to the Silent generation when you were kids. My grandmother and her siblings told me that "life was so much easier". They got vacuum cleaners, washing machines, and dish washers introduced to them in their lifetime. They used to beat rugs to clean them, scrub clothes on a wash board, and of course all dishes were wash...

I still wash dishes with my hands. Dishwasher leaves a thin film of dishwasher soap on the dishes. Cook about 90 percent of my food

The US also promised that NATO would expand "one inch" before taking in Poland and the Baltics.

The US promised NATO would not expand “one inch” to the East and since all NATO decisions have to be taken unanimously, the US could easily have blocked the expansion.

The German Reunification Treaty clearly states no NATO forces may be stationed in Former East German Territory. This was signed by both Germanies, Britain, France, the Soviet Union, and the US.

So it is pretty clear that, while there was no binding promise from NATO as an independent entity, Britain, France, Germany, and the US could each have vetoed expansion if they so desired.

This is a good example of NOT acting in good faith.

Changing the subject does not change what Putin knew on February 14.

Putin also agreed to respect Ukraine sovereignty if Ukraine gave them nuclear missiles, which they did.

NATO was never an invasion force, and Putin knows it.

However, he fears losing his influence over the former satellite countries.

Blaming the USA, NATO, Ukraine for Putin’s aggression is blaming the victim.

Does anyone actually think that NATO was conceived to attack Russia?

How so? Remind me when did the US invade Ukraine. How many cities leveled, people killed?

PS. Besides, weren't you supposed to learn back in preschool that somebody else's alleged wrongdoings does not give you free pass for the same (or worse)? Or, more recently, didn't you find out that "But, Officer, everybody was speeding!" does not gets you out of ticket?

I don't know how many people that were killed by the pre-puppet government during the Maidan coup but I know for certain that the West doesn't believe that Viktor Yanukovych did it.

I am fucking tired of people thinking it's "good" versus "evil". It's so fucking childish. It's two criminal syndicates fighting one another. Idiots root for one side or the other.

No matter how many goddamned times I show leaked conversations of officials doing fucking evil shit, people just pretend it never happened. The US overthrew Ukraine, then they made false promises that Ukraine could enter NATO eventually, with no intention of every allowing that, and then let a bunch of people get killed.

They did the same exact fucking thing with Georgia.

I have a government that lies to me constantly, calls me a "white supremacist terrorist", and is pushing LGBTQ nonsense on Kindergartners. Do you think I have any allegiance to these fuckers at this point?

If Putin WERE Hitler, well, he's doesn't effect me. He's no threat to me, my government is a threat to me. They've openly stated it. If you're an American, they're a threat to you. Useful idiots die first.

I'm loyal to a government that no longer exists and I hold out hope that maybe they'll come back. We'll see.

Who's "the West"? Some loony movie director with a man crush on Putin? LOL. And did not do what, exactly? Did not refuse to sign the Association Agreement with the EU, which he promised to do during his campaign, after meeting with Putin? He most certainly did - it's a historic fact. Refused to fire his Minister of Internal Affairs after peaceful protestors were beaten bloody on Nov 30, 2013? He most certainly did refuse to fire him, triggering almost half a million strong protest the very next day. Are you saying it was the US who made him refuse to sign the agreement, beat the original protesters and refuse to fire that minister?

And since you're so informed you don't even know how many people died between the start of the protests on Nov 30, 2013 and Yanukovich's run for Moscow on Feb 20, 2014, I'll enlighten you: roughly hundred civilians and less than 20 policemen.

So, back to that invasion by the US. When did it happen?

You can't see it? Really?

It's the nations that are all in with endless, pointless, wars. Every nation that supported the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, Yemen, Somalia - and accepted the refugees that were created by those wars with NO MISSION and endlessly promote propaganda, and now censorship - that's the west now.

The New USSR.

Eric Holder says

I'm saying protesters are useful idiots that can be mobilized on a few dimes, like Antifa and BLM were here in the United States. I'm saying they'd protest the sky being blue, because they are that stupid and brainless.

Ukraine needed money, and Yanukovych appealed to both the ECB and Russia - and Russia gave him a better deal. Considering how the EU had FUCKED Greece over, it was in the interest for him to work with Russia - but a bunch of NPC twats were programmed to resist that.

I am always tempted to say people are stupid, but they aren't. They are easily controlled - intelligence has nothing to do with it. They can't see when they are being used.

Eric Holder says

The US avoids invasions. It's cheaper to have coups and then let people die. They did it in Operation Ajax and PBSuccess, and Ukraine, and most recently, the United States itself.

The US isn't acting in the interests of these nations, or even US interests, it's acting in the interests for US oligarchs and multinational corporations - they just charge the US citizenry for it, but they get nothing out of it other than a bunch of propaganda, and mindless smugness about "being on the right side".
